Feeling very proud today - and not cause we got our pic with the mayor (I do highly rate Mr Kelly and I was very excited about that too) But of this little dude in the picture right here.

Mason has been one of the biggest cheerleaders for Tolerated since we started. He’s always at our markets with an ecouraging word , he often spends his hard earned pocket money with us and he’s always helpful letting me know what themes he’d like to see us design next. Recently he let us know he’d like to start his own business one day and wished he could work for us.

We’re not a huge business but I really wanted to encourage Mason. So he came down to us for an hour today - (he stayed for three) so he could see how a micro business runs. Mason worked his socks off, and by the end could work the till and was serving customers all by himself, he knew how everything came together, how to restock, how we work out what sells best and he was chatting and engaging with customers.

It was a huge privledge to encourage Mason in a little way. I know he’s destined for great things. I hope I showed him the business isn’t just about making money but about spreading joy and building community. In a world where young folk get a bad rep it made my heart so happy to see a kid so full of passion to get out and be hard working and creative, watch out world, Mason is on his way.
