I wish 'that'll do' worked as well for the rain as it did for the fantastic talent at Stuart Hall last weekend. A great day regardless at the ISDS Irish National Sheepdog Trials 🐕

Introducing the latest member of the team! My new assistant Sienna Lily got stuck right in at the Northern Ireland Polo Club today. She sleeps on the job a lot but makes up with it in cuteness 😚

My first print ad is officially out in the August edition of Local Women Magazine đŸ€©

Finding my niche was probably one of the hardest parts of building this business. For a long time, I felt like I had to be able to clearly define exactly what I did, who I worked with and where I fitted & when you’re capable of doing lots of different things narrowing that down can feel like you’re closing doors rather than creating opportunities.

But I’ve since learned that your niche doesn’t always come from sitting down and deciding what it should be. Sometimes you have to work your way into it. Take the jobs. Notice which projects excite you, which work you’re naturally good at, and which clients you genuinely enjoy working with. Over time the common thread becomes much easier to see.

For me, that thread has been the connection between people, animals and the brands that exist around them, combining my love of animals with photography, video and content creation in a way that finally feels completely me, so seeing my first print advert centred around that niche feels like a lovely little milestone đŸ«¶đŸŒ

If you’re still trying to figure out your own niche don’t put yourself under pressure to have it all figured out from day one. Build, experiment and pay attention to what keeps pulling you back. Sometimes your niche finds you while you’re busy doing the work

You’ve folders full of photos & videos, but still no visual identity. What a waste.

15 years in marketing and yes most businesses now recognise the need for decent photography and video content, but your marketing assets should be doing some heavy lifting too not just giving you something to post for the sake of it.

Run this quick DIY diagnostic on your content before your next brand shoot:

- Can you tell who you are and what you stand for?

- What’s the exact response you want when someone discovers you for the first time?

- What’s the real job each photo or video has to do? Eg. Website, socials, paid ads, etc.

Volume is easy but you have to carve out a specific look for visual equity.

Hmu if you’re missing a visual identity đŸ“© we’ll carve you that specific look that makes you so proud to call your brand yours

Textural. Story-led. Imperfect. The same principles that make a portrait feel like a real person over AI are the ones that make brand content feel like a real brand. You have to stand in the shot to see what belongs there and what doesn't.

When I shoot for a client, I’m not looking for a polished version of them. I’m looking for the details that only show up when the light is right and nobody's performing. The windswept strand of hair. The thought behind their expression. The smile that arrives on its own.

That's what connects.
