💖From festive jumpers to generous hearts💖

Christmas may already feel like a distant memory as we dive into the 2026 spring season, but we just had to take a moment to celebrate this.

This December, The Farplants Group took part in Christmas Jumper Day across all of our sites. Everyone got involved, gave generously, and enjoyed a festive day at work, all in support of the brilliant Save the Children - and we raised a final total of £355!

We’re so proud, and every penny will make a real difference for disadvantaged children, helping to create brighter, safer futures where they’re needed most.

We’re excited to welcome Steven James back to the Farplants family as our new Head of Commercial, starting 2nd February 2026.

Steve brings a wealth of experience from his time at Blue Diamond Garden Centres and previously with Dobbies Garden Centres and The Farplants Group. In his new role, he’ll be helping us strengthen retail partnerships, shape our commercial strategy, and continue delivering our high-quality plants to garden centres across the UK.

David Salisbury, General Manager, Director said: “Steve possesses a rare blend of commercial acumen and genuine passion for the product. His insight from the retailer’s perspective will be invaluable as we continue our growth.”

Whilst the Christmas lights were twinkling, our WebShop certainly didn’t take a break. Our customers have been busy ordering from their reserves - especially early bulbs and splashes of winter colour including Primroses, Snowdrops, Daffodils, Camellias, Aconites and Heucheras. Pictured here is our Helleborus Walberton’s® Rosemary 3L.

We’re also seeing strong interest in shrubs and herbs, with our 9cm tubs & basket range continuing its fantastic popularity into 2026.

Everyone loves winter evergreens at this time of year, and it’s clear garden centres are already getting set for a busy season ahead. Our General Manager, Director, David Salisbury, sums it up perfectly: “The year may have only just begun, but the appetite for quality plants is already clear. It’s great to see customers planning ahead and building colourful, high-impact benches from day one.”

🌞 This morning we met with Nick Jones, Head Gardener at the Children’s Hospice, Chestnut Tree House, Arundel, to hand over some seeds and bulbs.

🌿 Chestnut Tree Children’s Hospice in Arundel are planning to open their gardens to the public in summer 2026 to challenge some common hospice myths and to raise awareness of the hospice.

The gardens will include three Greenfingers Charity gardens:
🌳The Woodland Walk
🍲Kitchen Garden
🕯️Memorial Garden

The Farplants Group has donated seeds from Fleurie Nursery and bulbs from Binsted Nursery (thanks Greg Tomalski for sorting this).
