Here’s our roundup of fresh picks for the week ahead – full of colour, character, and year-round appeal.

💚 You know we’re big fans of Spiraea here at Farplants, and Spiraea ‘Little Princess’ 3L ticks all the boxes. These hardy, compact deciduous shrubs offer fantastic multi-season value for customers, making them an easy sell on the bench.

🌸 Fresh, bright foliage in spring gives way to mid-green summer tones, topped with masses of frothy pastel-pink ombre flower clusters, creating a long-lasting floral display right through the summer. Come autumn, the foliage shifts again, glowing with golden reddish tones.🍂

🪴 Also this week – Sempervivum Bowls. The Latin name Sempervivum translates to ‘always living’ – a nod to just how tough these resilient little plants are. They breeze through extreme temperatures and drought, making them a firm garden favourite.

Elegant ⭐Physostegia Crystal Peak White⭐ is a true summer showstopper, flowering from midsummer to early autumn with spires of pristine white blooms above neat, compact foliage.

Unlike taller, leggier types, this variety keeps its form beautifully, so much so, it scooped a Fleuroselect Gold Medal: “Awarded to new introductions that clearly surpass existing varieties in breeding innovation and beauty”.

👖 The Skinny Jean Gardener Visits Farplants!

🚛 We had a very productive day yesterday welcoming Lee Connelly, The Skinny Jean Gardener – the UK’s leading Children’s Gardening Educator – to Farplants! It was fantastic to show him our commercial horticulture at scale, giving him a behind-the-scenes look at our growing sites and distribution.

👑 Lee, known as “The King of Kids Gardening” (Matthew Biggs, BBC Radio 4), is passionate about making horticulture a viable career and bringing gardening into schools through his School Gardening Success Plan.

🎒 “It was really great to see Lee and spend time showing him around our growing sites and distribution. We also had valuable discussions about his campaign for gardening in schools and how Farplants, along with the wider industry, can work together to help support this vital initiative,” explained David Salisbury, Director, Farplants Sales.

These Salvias are non-stop performers, flowering prolifically from late spring right through to the first frosts, offering incredible value and continuous colour for your purchasers.
