Sad news that Paul Di'Anno the origional singer with Iron Maiden has died. This was the Iron Maiden I fell in love with back in the day. I saw them in pubs and clubs before they were rocketed to stardom. Those first two albums were my Iron maiden and they put on one hell of a show back then. He was only 66 and until recently still gigging. WHAT A LEGEND!!

I Saw FOCUS in a Local Club and Got My Albums Signed!

I had an amazing experience watching Focus perform live at The Borderline in Guildford, and to top it all off, I got my albums signed by the band! 🎶✨ In this video, I’ll share some of some footage from their incredible performance in this intimate setting, where prog legends Thijs van Leer and Pierre van der Linden, alongside their talented bandmates, played some of their greatest hits, including 'Sylvia' and 'Hocus Pocus.'

It was a night filled with virtuosic flute solos, soaring guitar riffs, and that classic Focus magic. This gig was a reminder of why Focus remains one of the most iconic names in progressive rock. The Soft Machine Albums That Got Me Hooked

"In this video, I take you on a personal journey through the two albums that pulled me into the world of Soft Machine: Bundles and Softs. These were the first albums where the band fully embraced the electric guitar as a lead instrument, with Allan Holdsworth and John Etheridge delivering jaw-dropping performances.

While Bundles and Softs were my entry point, my love for the band has grown to include much of their back catalogue. I have a special appreciation for the early albums where Robert Wyatt’s voice and drumming shaped their sound, adding a unique psychedelic and jazz-infused spirit that I still cherish today. Soft Machine’s evolution from avant-garde rock to jazz fusion was unlike anything else, and these two albums opened the door for me to explore their groundbreaking, ever-changing music, they were my GATEWAY albums!

Whether you're new to Soft Machine or a long-time fan, join me as I dive into how these albums captured my imagination and led me to one of the most influential bands of the Canterbury scene."
