Taking time out this Christmas has been exactly what I needed.

2025 has been one of the strangest and hardest I’ve faced and I’m still trying to unpick why. There are so many layers to what has culminated in what has felt like a bit of a mental breakdown this year.

But one thing I’m certain of is that burnout was a contributing factor.

I’m actually a bit nervous going into January 2026. It was January this year things started to feel “off” to me. But now I recognise the signs and I feel like I’m better equipped to protect myself.

I say no more.
I say it as it is more, especially to my clients

And I take breaks when I need to. Pushing through is not always the answer. So, if you feel like you’re pushing through but it isn’t sitting well with you, ask yourself where it might lead.

Burnout is just a word until it isn’t. Trust me. It’s not something you want to experience. Listen to yourself. Talk to someone. Don’t keep pushing through.
