The Irish broadcaster follows its counterparts in Iceland, Slovenia and Spain in raising concerns about the appearance of Israel at Eurovision.

Calls for Israel’s expulsion from Eurovision have grown louder again in the run-up to the 2025 contest as the war in Gaza continues, where more than 52,000 people have been killed since October 2023.

The Swiss singer, who is set to hand over the trophy at next week’s event, commented: “I support the call for Israel’s exclusion from the Eurovision Song Contest. Israel’s actions are fundamentally at odds with the values that Eurovision claims to uphold — peace, unity, and respect for human rights.”
