The Northumbria Volunteer Service (NVS) is looking for new volunteers!

If you're based around Hexham General Hospital and want to volunteer your time to enhance the patient experience, we've got a role for you.

Ward trolley volunteers bring the NVS shop to the patients. You'll be able to chat with patients and offer them a drink, snack, or crossword.

All profits from the NVS shop go back into Bright Charity, providing additional funding and adding a bit of brightness to Northumbria NHS.

Thanks to those who have contacted NHR since Christmas expressing an interest in volunteering.

Having just taken on another volunteer recently, we are unable to accept any new regular volunteers for the immediate future.

Unfortunately, we also don’t have the capacity to add more 1-hour programmes from new contributors on a regular basis.

Going forward, we will be looking for people who can read out detailed health and wellbeing information, general events information, poems and stories.
