Northumberland Hospital Radio NHR - The Hospital Broadcasting Service for Northumberland and North Tyneside NHR is a UK registered charity.

Northumberland Hospital Radio is a regionally-based hospital broadcasting service covering the county of Northumberland and North Tyneside District. NHR - currently provides a 24-hour service to Alnwick Infirmary, Blyth Community Hospital, Hexham General Hospital, Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, North Tyneside General Hospital and Wansbeck General Hospital - within the Northumbria

Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - one of the largest NHS Trusts in the UK. The service is run entirely by voluntary staff (there are no paid employees of the Charity) who either work elsewhere or are retired. All our volunteers bring a mix of skills and experience for the benefit of the organisation.

Thanks to those who have contacted NHR since Christmas expressing an interest in volunteering.

Having just taken on another volunteer recently, we are unable to accept any new regular volunteers for the immediate future.

Unfortunately, we also don’t have the capacity to add more 1-hour programmes from new contributors on a regular basis.

Going forward, we will be looking for people who can read out detailed health and wellbeing information, general events information, poems and stories.
