❄️ Travel warning ahead of Storm Goretti ❄️

Tameside has a yellow warning for heavy snow and strong winds forecast by the Met Office, here’s what we know so far about local travel disruption 👇

⚠️ A57 Snake Pass – closed from 6pm, Thursday 8th January
⚠️ A628 Woodhead Pass – closed both ways from 8pm, Thursday 8th January
⚠️ No train services from Guide Bridge to Glossop – after 6pm Thursday 8th January and all day Friday 9th January. Last train from Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop: 16:33
⚠️ Bus and tram services are also expected to be affected. For live updates, check www.tfgm.com/travel-updates

Interchanges, platforms and crossing across the Bee Network are being treated with grit and anti-icing measures, TfGM has confirmed.

🚨 Traffic News 🚨

UPDATE 15:47: The M60 has now reopened but commuters can still expect delays of around 30 minutes.

The M60 anti-clockwise is currently blocked between J1 (Stockport Pyramid) and J25 (Brinnington) due to a reported police incident.

This is causing delays for traffic heading towards the Tameside area.

⚠️ Also affected:
Wellington Road (A6) in Stockport is closed in both directions between Travis Brow Link Road and A560 Leyland Street.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible and allow extra time for journeys.
