The “𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰” project at Chute Bar puts the focus firmly on those that were there on the dancefloor and at the controls of the cultural explosion that rocked and continues to shape dance music today.

Each event will highlight DJ’s and artists that brought their own individual influences to an era that is now part of Manchester’s heritage.

𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒘 𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝒐𝒏 𝑾𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒕 and he brought a unique killer sound that blended the underground releases from the states along with a deep style that he still carries to this day.

He took Whitworth street by the scruff of its neck and when he moved on to create his own YELLOW nights at the boardwalk around the corner , he created a night that would not only challenge Whitworth street but at times , his music policy nailed it shut.

We’re back!! Bigger, louder, wilder and ready to take Ashton by storm once again!

After over 4,000 of you turned out for our first Street Life and packed Market Avenue and Ashton town centre with music, food, movie magic, and unbeatable vibes, the call for another summer time event has been unprecedented.
We knew we had to do it all again, we just had to find time in our hectic schedule, but this time it’s going to be even better!

This isn’t a sequel… it’s a statement, a full-on community takeover designed to reinvigorate the town, and be the catalyst for change.
A celebration of Ashton, our people, and everything that makes this town special. We are loud and proud about that, and passionate about putting this town not just back on the map, but into another galaxy! 🪐

We are now extending the boundaries to Warrington Street to make this a much bigger site, with trade stands down the centre of Wood Street and George Street linking everything together. Expect new attractions, and a ground breaking prop build bigger than the scout walker! 😳🤯🤩

STREET LIFE STATEMENT

Well what can I say about that except WOW!

4-5k people turned out yesterday for the first ever Street Life event in Ashton Under Lyne. Even the rain didn’t stop us yesterday, the town centre was buzzing late into the night, every car parking space was taken and the good times and feeling were back. There wasn’t just people from Ashton in town yesterday, they came from all over the UK.

To get so many messages from businesses who benefited from the fooffall was fantastic, and amazing to hear. I’ve never personally seen Ashton so busy even thinking back to the 90s, and from what I’m hearing even going back to war times, the town hasn’t seen footfall like that, so thank you to all those who attended to make that happen. Thank you to everyone that worked the event, to the traders, staff and volunteers.

I’ve woke up around midday today and my inboxes are flooded with well wishes and genuine excitement of what the future now holds for this wonderful old market town. I’ve read every single comment over the last couple of hours and it’s literally left me with a tear in my eye, there are some amazing people who want change in Tameside, and it’s made me more confident than ever with that task which I have given myself. Someone has to do it and pick up that responsibility with a true passion for it, and that is what I am going to do, bear in mind this was just a taster of what we are capable of doing.

To see the decline in Ashton over the last decade particularly has been painful for anyone who truly cares about the place to see, and I am not going to let it go on any further, the good people want change and positivity.

So where from here and what is the plan?

For those who hoped and believed, this was a momentous occasion. To anyone that doubted it, I hope you are now onboard and believe in what can be.
My mission is to not only regenerate Ashton, but to turn it into the nations leading town for regeneration, creativity and cultural development, and to make Ashton a tourist destination. Some of the things we have planned are going to blow peoples minds. It’s ambitious but we are doing it.

I’ve been keeping things a little under my hat the last couple of years, it’s taken huge investment in the background to get where we are now, and it’s going to take a lot more, but we are dedicated and won’t fail, and have the right team in place to deliver. I think it’s probably the right time to put out a full press release about ours plans, and how YOU can get involved.
