A Dorset success story making waves 🐟

Sea Sisters UK , the Bridport-based cannery specialising in premium British fish, is expanding following £78,600 in funding from the British Business Bank’s Start Up Loans programme, delivered by SWIG Finance

Founded during lockdown by Charlotte Dawe and Angus Cowen, the business set out to champion British seafood and traditional preservation methods – something they noticed was missing from supermarket shelves.

Today, Sea Sisters produces handcrafted conservas using seasonal seafood, including Cornish sardines, Welsh cockles and oak-smoked rainbow trout, all prepared in small batches with a strong focus on sustainability and provenance.

The investment has enabled the team to build their cannery, extend their product range and create 15 local jobs in the area.
