Last night (Wednesday 10 December) at 21:43, both fire engines from Thame Fire Station – were mobilised to a serious road traffic collision (RTC) on the A4129 between Thame and Kingsey, near the Windmill Road junction.

On arrival, crews found one female casualty who was unable to free herself from the vehicle due to her injuries.

The first few minutes at an RTC are critical for the safety of everyone involved, including the emergency services on scene. The fire crews immediately established safe systems of work, prepared rescue equipment, and gathered vital information to share with ambulance teams. At the same time, two firefighters were able to focus on providing dedicated immediate emergency care to the casualty.

Shortly after, a fire engine from Slade Park Fire Station arrived, along with Thames Valley Police , South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, and Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

Working closely with ambulance crews, firefighters safely extricated the casualty and handed her over to waiting medical teams. The scene was then passed to our police colleagues for investigation and management.

🎄🎤 CHRISTMAS CAROLS AROUND THE TREE! 🎤🎄

Christmas is almost here, so it’s time to warm up those vocal cords and join us at Chinnor Pavilion on Christmas Eve for the annual Carols Around the Tree!
If you can’t sing… don’t worry — neither can we, but that’s what makes it magical 😂

We’re thrilled to be joined by the amazing Chinnor Silver Band, keeping the tunes on track while the rest of us pretend we know all the words! 🎺🎶
This tradition has been part of Chinnor for YEARS — so if you’re not there, Father Christmas will find out. No pressure. 😉

🍷☕ The Pavilion Bar will be OPEN to help soothe your nerves and boost your confidence. Hot drinks, cold drinks, alcoholic, non-alcoholic — something for every kind of singer!

Bring your best Christmas jumper, your loudest singing voice, and enough festive spirit to last until Christmas dinner. 🎅✨

See you there — it’s going to be merry and (questionably) musical! 😂🎄

We are Red Kite Radio - real LOCAL radio

Based in the grounds of Haddenham Garden Centre, we've been on air since June 2017. A not-for-profit organisation, our remit is to serve the community with Classic Hits from the 60’s to today, News and Information. We are funded by Advertising and Sponsorship and Donations.

We started out as a team of friends from Haddenham and Thame who all had worked in commercial radio with an idea of creating a pop up radio station for 2 weeks per year to celebrate the Haddenham Beer Festival. So ‘Summerfest Radio’ was born. We did it 4 years in a row with a lot of support from the community to go for a full time community radio licence and widen our reach to focus on Thame, Haddenham and the surrounding villages. We have a number of local presenters. The team is a mix of young and old from all areas, with a vast repertoire of music knowledge and preferences. We’re always keen to build the team so anyone can come in and give it a go after completing our training. We train the presenters in the studio to operate the desk and control the playlist system. If you are interested in getting involved, please message us here or email [email protected]
