A new chapter of support for young people in Buckinghamshire 💙

Buckinghamshire Council is set to open its third new children’s home, The Beeches, as part of its programme to provide safe, nurturing and local places to live for children and young people in care.

The Beeches will offer a warm, homely environment as an alternative to foster care. It follows the opening of Lawrence Lodge and Pineview earlier this year, and is one of 10 council-run homes that will be opening across the county over the next two years.

With more than 500 children currently in the council’s care, these homes mean:
✔ young people can stay near their friends, school and community
✔ care is delivered locally and consistently
✔ the council can reinvest savings into services supporting young people

Cllr Carl Jackson said:
“It is important that children and young people in our care are offered a safe and nurturing place to call home which is close to everything they know. By opening children’s homes like The Beeches, we can provide better outcomes and brighter futures for vulnerable children and young people.”

Buckinghamshire Council is now recruiting staff for the new homes.

About us

In 2010 I set up Vale Life Magazine as a local interest publication for the Thame, Aylesbury and surrounding area. Since then it has grown in popularity each year and become a valued and I hope, useful source of ideas, information and entertainment for local people and businesses. Please get in touch with your stories, events and comments and if you are a local business, tell us about your products and services and we’ll spread the word across the area.

Best wishes, Charlie Trott, founder, editor and publisher.
