It is distinctly different from home insurance.

How easy do you find images that suit the words that you write? I’ve been asked a number of times how the illustrations we use in my book came about. I found it difficult to source just the right pictures that worked. I knew that having pictures of real people needs to be thought-through very carefully so as to be inclusive. It’s a tricky road to navigate. After much consideration I sent a rough sketch of my idea of a plant pot with a face and a plant that looked like hair to my graphic designer 729 Apparel By Rayhaan. I always wondered how he decifered what I was looking for from my very crude pencil sketch. He sent me his first illustrations for some chapters and I loved what he’d done …

Over the years Ray has produced artwork for my book, marketing collateral, from banners, to promotional literature, my fancy table cover for exhibitions, the latest branding as an author and podcast host, the titles to my podcast episodes and much more. Thank you Rayhaan 💕.

In last month's episode of Your Home, Their Workplace, I had the privilege of talking about my work as a Neurologic Music Therapist. We discussed using music to support recovery after brain injury, empower support workers, and involve whole families - from parents, to siblings, and caregivers.

Some key discussion areas included:
💪 Helping a client rebuild upper limb endurance so he could wash his hair and hold his child again
🙌 Training support staff to feel confident using music, even if they don’t think they’re “musical”
🎶 Integrating NMT™ into family routines, home programs, and play sessions with siblings

A shout out to 3B Vehicle Hire, Long Crendon, Aylesbury & Wycombe! I saw an advert about a special offer on their EV. Now, I was debating whether I should buy an EV or go hybrid. So, I hired the EV. Ross Batting and his team were very responsive and I had the VW ID.3 for a week. Well done to the Lionesses on their Euro 2025 win! I sat at the edge of my sofa, fingers covering my eyes as the penalty shoot out went on. To be fair, in my humble opinion, I felt Spain played the better game. But it’s those few players who held their nerve and the goalkeepers, who are the stars of the show tonight. What I loved is the English team commiserating with their Spanish counterparts. They show empathy, because they could well have been in that position. AMAZING Team work. 🌷

Well done to the many women playing in Switzerland for the 2025 Euros. Some high class playing. Love the support being shown for women’s football.

For years I had an idea to start a podcast to share knowledge with people who unwittingly become employERs because they or someone in their family need care and employ staff. There was always a reason to put it off - including that I don’t like the sound of my voice but I find I’m not alone in this! On 5 July last year my first episode was aired after I decided that all the excuses had to be set aside.

Today, a year later, I am so very appreciative of everyone who has willingly agreed to support my aim and share your expertise, your stories, your experiences, on my podcast YOUR HOME. THEIR WORKPLACE. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

There is still so much more to explore and share and thanks to you David Robson for your time today when we recorded a future episode, and for your generous comments.
