👓 We’ve seen records go for £1 and for £100 at these fairs - half the fun is, you just never know what’s hiding in the crates. Our sellers are a mix of professional stores and everyday music lovers who just want to offload some of their private collections.

Kingdom of Mourne music lovers!

We are delighted to announce that the Belfast Underground / Underground Events Record, CD & Tape Fair is returning to O’Hares in Newcastle on Sunday 20th July!

If you made it to our last Newcastle fair, you’ll already know what a brilliant venue this is - the perfect setting for an event like this!

It’s also a no-brainer of a day out for the whole family. Bring the kids and your partner, enjoy a meal and a pint in the lovely front bar, then hand the little ones a bucket of 2p coins and let them loose in the amusements just two minutes away - while you dig through thousands of records, CDs and tapes.

We have upped the ante on this one with even more sellers and bigger, fresh selections!

Free parking is available right at the rear entrance in Donard Car Park.

Doors 11am - 4pm FREE admission

This video Sums up everything that I love about the excitement and uniqueness of music creation and finding your feet as an artist. It’s the perfect example of why you should do your own thing.

Pharrell Williams is a hero of mine. Watching both his and Maggie Rogers’ reactions as he listens to her song for the first time - when she was just a student, is one of the most moving things I’ve ever seen. You can feel her tension and excitement as she is being appraised by one of the finest music minds of our generation.

The way he reacts, the way her music hits him on a soul level… it’s everything I love about the art of songwriting and music production. It’s raw, it’s real.

Moments like that remind me why I fell in love with music in the first place. Pharrell isn’t just cool to me, he feels music in a way that’s deeply human.

If you’re an up & coming recording artist, band or DJ, it’s very important that you take the time to interact with the people who follow your social pages.

Until you get to the stage of being Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé or Carl Cox, just remember that the people who follow you when you’re on your way up are worth their weight in gold and more likely to follow your journey to the top.

Popstar and actress Billie Piper has revealed she’s still in debt to Virgin Records, with reports suggesting it could be anywhere up to £9 million.

She scored three number one singles.

Spotify has announced that it will be demonetising all tracks on its platform with under 1,000 streams in a new policy which launched on April 1.

The decision comes following a report published last year, titled Modernising our royalty system, when the platform outlined that 99.5% of all streams on the platform "are of tracks that have above 1,000 streams."

Spotify stated that demonetising these songs will not result in a "change to the size of the music royalty pool being paid out to rights holders" and that it will instead "use the tens of millions of dollars annually to increase the payments to all eligible tracks, rather than spreading it out into $0.03 payments.”
