As 2020 is rapidly coming to a close and 2021 is nearly on our doorstep, it is a time for reflection. It has been a massively challenging year for so many people in so many different ways. We are at a turning point where our learnings can help to inform how we will be in the future. I will write more on this in the coming days. We have choices and we have options.
Many people have been triggered, and have been having huge emotional responses to the situation in the UK, in their own lives or to the global picture. People who have spoken to me personally will be aware that I talk about the "emotional pot" - the emotional "petrol tank" - that many of us have previously, through life experiences, have stoked and filled, ready to be ignited by the smallest of sparks. If this petrol tank or pot was full _before_ lockdown, the stresses during the last few months will have caused many people to have spilled over, petrol burning and the smallest of sparks causing meltdown. A few people have moved through the last few months with little personal impact - but many have not. So - this is what I do. I help people to ditch any excess petrol. To lighten their loading. To enable them to have more thinking space, and hence more resilience on a day-to-day basis.
I received this testimonial recently. I am immensely grateful for this gentleman in sharing his experiences with me, and being brave in seeking change. Thank you - you know who you are.
"I have been an exceptionally lucky man. Happily married to a wonderful wife for over 50 years, having a marvellous and loving Daughter, and a great and varied career, which enabled me to travel the world. Like everybody, life has taken me through highs and some lows.
Sadly, my wonderful wife passed away under very tragic circumstances in 2019. I would class myself as a strong character who has had experiences through life which has required some moral courage. However, I certainly was not prepared for this awful tragedy. Alas, I went into a very dark place and could not find a way out, to be honest, I do not know if I wanted a way out! A terrible state to be in.
I have in the past, been a sceptic when it comes to Coaching, however I was lucky enough to be coached by Tanya Collins. I cannot believe what she has done for me and what she achieved. The methodology used is so gentle and non-invasive. I never believed it possible that I could be rid of so much trauma and depression.
I am now 77 years of age, and have met another lovely lady who was in the same position as me, having also been married for 50 years. I am so lucky to be in this position.
Tanya Collins gave me a new life that I never thought possible. Thank you so much Tanya."
