💥FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE💥
👉 GERRY JABLONSKI BAND TURN UP THE HEAT WITH NEW SINGLE “TOO HOT” & INTRODUCE NEW FRONTMAN NICKY AIKEN
Aberdeen’s internationally renowned blues-rock outfit, Gerry Jablonski Band, are back with a brand-new single,“Too Hot”, out on all digital platforms on 26th September 2025.
The new release marks the official arrival of powerhouse vocalist Nicky Aiken(ex-Temple Sons) as the band’s new frontman, a move that signals an exciting new era for one of the UK’s most electrifying live acts.
👉 SEND IN THE MARINES
Nicky Aiken, a veteran of the Scottish rock and blues scene and former Royal Marine Commando, first appeared with the band as a guest at their sold-out Aberdeen show in September 2024. The chemistry was immediate.
“We’ve known Nicky a long time,” explains guitarist and bandleader Gerry Jablonski. “He’s been part of the Aberdeen music scene for years. When he joined us onstage, everything just clicked. We all looked at each other like — oh aye!”
Jablonski continues, “I’ve always wanted a proper lead vocalist. I love singing, but someone like Nicky opens up the sound, gives us new possibilities, opens up the vocal harmonies and helps us bring the show to an even wider audience.”
👉 NICKY AIKEN JOINS THE BAND: FROM SUPERMARKET CHAT TO CENTRE STAGE
Aiken’s journey into the band began in an unlikely spot — the supermarket.
“I bumped into Pete [Narojczyk, harmonica player] and told him I was between things musically,” says Aiken. “He invited me to jump on stage for a few songs at their next gig. No rehearsal, just a quick run-through at soundcheck. Mid-set, I was thrown into the fire — but it worked. The music took over.”
Soon after, the band invited him to join them on tour. The offer to join officially came — in classic Jablonski Band fashion — shouted through a toilet cubicle door. “It was hard to say no,” laughs Aiken.
👉 “TOO HOT” — A TASTE OF WHAT’S TO COME
The band’s new single, “Too Hot,” is a blistering slice of funky blues-rock that blends heavy riffs, searing harmonica, and rich vocal harmonies. It’s hot and it’s heavy.
It’s the first taste of a fresh batch of songs written and recorded with Aiken and will feature on the band’s forthcoming album, due for release in the new year.
👉THE ROAD AHEAD
It’s been another busy year with festivals all over Europe and the UK and with 15 years of hard international touring under their belt, the Gerry Jablonski Band remain one of the hardest-working and most respected names in British blues-rock. Their ever-expanding schedule of UK and European club, theatre and festival dates keeps them on the move, nice and tight, hot and heavy.
From pin-drop moments in intimate venues to sweat-drenched club shows and festival sing-alongs, the band’s live show remains the stuff of legend — and with Nicy Aiken onboard, it’s been taken to the next level.
“It’s a bit of a madhouse, but it’s a well-oiled machine,” says Aiken. “You just hang on and go where the music takes you.”
