One of our personal friends has had a great tragedy with a glimmer of hope. One of her twin daughters suffered prolonged cardiorespiratory arrest a few weeks back. She is still in Critical condition and is left with a brain injury. The family is raising money for intensive treatment to give her the best possible chance in life. There is also equipment that will help them care for her at home.

Please donate whatever you can to help. Thanks 🙏

Háifoss 🇮🇸💦

Yesterday I stood at the edge of one of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls — Háifoss, or “High Waterfall”.

At around 122 metres, the water plunges into a vast volcanic canyon, with the smaller Granni waterfall cascading alongside it. The scale is difficult to capture in photographs. You can stand there looking at it, but your brain takes a while to process just how enormous the landscape really is.

And there was something strangely familiar about standing here. Almost like I’d seen this place before… somewhere else, in another world.

It’s a strange thing, standing at the edge of a place like this. 😉

Here is a little
Video I took yesterday. 📸🇮🇸

Írárfoss 🇮🇸💦

Another little piece of Iceland that looks like it belongs in another world.

Írárfoss is tucked away in the dramatic Icelandic landscape, where the river drops through the volcanic rock in a series of powerful cascades. It’s not necessarily the biggest or most famous waterfall in Iceland — but that’s part of the magic.

Sometimes the places you stumble across are the ones that stay with you.

Iceland really does have a way of making you stop, look around, and realise just how wild this planet can be.

What are the mysterious White Ladies of Anglesey, and why were they built?

In this episode of Sailing Melody, I set sail from Beaumaris and head north through Puffin Sound, past Penmon Lighthouse and around the north coast of Anglesey on a voyage to investigate three unusual white navigation towers known as the White Ladies.
