Our Story

The Northern Ireland Film & Television School is based at SERC’s Bangor Campus. This page showcases the work produced and projects undertaken by both the HNC and HND students. At Bangor we offer a one year part-time HNC in Creative Media Production (sixteen students, two full days a week, 9.15am to 5.15pm) with the option to stay on to complete a second year top-up HND course. Students will undertake units covering Scriptwriting, Camera & Lighting Techniques, Music Video, Fiction Production for Moving Image, Editing Techniques and Documentary Production amongst others... In their HND year, students will also spend time on an industry placement. It's an exciting time for the film and television industry in Northern Ireland and we aim to equip our students with the skills required to work in the industry. We have excellent facilities including a fully operational studio and industry standard cameras, sound and lighting rigs. The teaching team are all industry professionals and students will have access to a range of masterclasses and workshops from visiting media professionals during the course of their studies... Recent NIFTS graduates have gone on to work on locally produced feature films, joined NI based production companies and been selected for NI Screen’s prestigious Aim High Scheme.
