Woodworm Studios Recording studio based around an SSL Duality. Woodworm studios was originally conceived by Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention.

It has been refurbished to a state of the art residential recording studio with an SSL Duality at it's heart. Monitoring is supplied by PMC MB2 XBDA's, with apogee conversion, Pro Tools HD Native and outboard from Neve, API, Bricasti, Universal Audio, Manley, Tube Tech, TC Electronic, Empirical Labs and Chandler. Every effort had been made to retain the character, history and creative atmosphere, whilst indulging the client in a comfortable and relaxing environment.

It's almost four years since "Motherblood" was released! The album was an important milestone for us - a new, high-spirited lineup and a common goal to create something special, at least for ourselves. What's your favorite track on the album?

We wrote the album here in Finland during the cold of winter, and travelled to British countryside to record the album in March 2017. Since Jaime Gomez Arellano's new studio (which was still being built at the time, in an old World War II coding hut) was still missing a few windows, we quite spontaneously recorded the drums at the famous Woodworm Studios before finally heading to Orgone Studios. We had such a good time, recording, visiting local pubs, enjoying the countryside. During those one and a half weeks at Orgone, us and Gomez put together 10 tracks which ultimately became "Motherblood", and two tracks which were later released on our Doomsday Roadburn live album.

Folks, don't forget 'Corner Of My Street' is now out as a single! The only song from the album 'Your Pal Slim: Songs of James Hand' written by me rather than James.

James and I had talked about writing songs together, and this one was the first idea I came up with. Sadly he never got to hear it. Even so, I'm happy to have recorded and be giving it its own spotlight now. Special thanks to Ralph McLean who gave it a spin on his BBC Radio Ulster show last night!

Woodworm’s Story

Woodworm studios was originally conceived by Dave Pegg of Fairport Convention. It has been refurbished to a state of the art residential recording studio with an SSL Duality at it's heart. Every effort had been made to retain the character, history and creative atmosphere, whilst indulging the client in a comfortable and relaxing environment. Stuart has worked in audio for many years. Starting as a live engineer Stuart worked with The Strokes, Ed Sheeran and Wonderstuff. He’s now moved into studio work where he’s continued working with big artists such as The Disciples, Tony Iommi and Tim Renwick. Over the years Woodworm’s has hosted many amazing band. Included in it’s rank are Radiohead, Fairport Convention and Jethro Tull.
