Sad news from the Nestle factory today. A night shift worker was crushed beneath a case of chocolate that fell 20 feet off the storage racking. He called for help repeatedly but every time he shouted 'The Milky Bars are on me' his colleagues just cheered.

Breaking news from M5 ju 27, a lorry loaded with 25 tons of Vicks VapoRub has overturned on the noth bound carriageway , spilling its entire cargo across the road.

Police at the scene have confirmed that, thanks to the menthol explosion, there will be absolutely no congestion for the next 12 hours, although several motorists are reporting unusually clear sinuses, slightly watery eyes, and an irresistible urge to hum Christmas jingles 🙈🤧🤣🤣🤣

| Police are appealing for witnesses and information following an assault in Barnstaple.

At around 10.30pm on Saturday 6 September a man in his 70s was walking along Queen Street outside the NHS centre when a verbal exchange with a young male took place.

During the exchange the victim was assaulted and suffered an injury to his finger.

The suspect – part of a group of teenagers – is described as being a white male aged 16-18, around 5ft 9ins tall, with dark short hair.

He was wearing a white t-shirt, a black waterproof top, black trousers and was holding a carton of juice.

Residents and visitors from Hartland Point to Lynmouth should be aware that flooding is possible during high tides on:
-Tuesday evening
-Wednesday morning
-Wednesday evening

High water at Ilfracombe is expected at 20:00 on Tuesday, but times will vary along the coast.

Strong Force 5 southerly winds and offshore waves over 1.9m could cause wave overtopping and sea spray, with tides around 170mm higher than predicted.

Stay away from coastal risk areas and take extra care near the sea.
