Twenty five years ago I left my abuser I could take the punches and bashes even being chocked and punched in my temple I was nocked out cold. But the gaslighting and abuse I endured in front of my children. A mother never wants this life for her children. I tried in this country but because I had my name on the mortgage I wouldn’t be housed. I had no were to go, I came from an abusive family and I tried to my hardest not to let my children see this. Every occasion was destroyed until his birthday then I heard nothing but his birthday months before. His oldest son told me he was a scape goat he did not like to pay for anything. Even drinks very thing he would get upset about. I guess he was a male Karen. You do not believe them. He would lie about everything including his age. What broke me was he worked by the docks and he pointed out the naughty girls that was not what I wanted my children to know about. The shame and humiliation was enough but the constant bashings in front of my children was embarrassing to me. I never wanted this for my children. But it wasn’t just that it was his birthday months before he would go on and on. But my children had l he tried to spoil. It had to be about him. If I had to do anything child coming over for dinner it had to be finished before we got him. The constant eggshells even going to gymnastics with Rebecca was an ordeal. 14 years of not being allowed to speak to anyone was not allowed I was chatting up the teachers. The woman up the road allowed her husband to have a prostatute. No I wasn’t doing that no way. He knew the persons situation. My sister was meant to be someone who was my sister blood sister. I meant nothing to her she wanted to see my child after nursery she never showed up. I learned fast she was not my friend. She lived with me she paid no rent. I stated instead of buying me anything for my birthday to pay me rent. She did nothing no rent no birthday gift. I had a child on my own struggling to buy food while paying a mortgage. The last straw was I paid for a hamper for food for Christmas it took everything I had. She got a typed letter saying they had gone bankrupted. She refused to give me the details and wasn’t contacting them. Sadly I had nobody my mother was with her family an alcoholic she became. But I plodded it forward me and my child. My child had no instructions but she was loved so much. I worked to pay the mortgage and to keep us. That’s me today maybe an update in the futures
