The Story Behind the Adidas Trefoil 🌿

Every great brand starts with a vision — and for Adolf “Adi” Dassler, that vision began in a small laundry room in Herzogenaurach, Germany.

Peter Moore, a visionary designer, created the iconic Jumpman logo that defines the Jordan Brand. Born in 1943, Moore was a key figure at Nike in the 1980s, serving as creative director. In 1984, he crafted the Jumpman by tracing a photo of Michael Jordan dunking, capturing his dynamic athleticism. The logo debuted on the Air Jordan 1 tongue, launching a cultural phenomenon. Moore’s work extended beyond Nike; he designed Adidas’s three-stripe logo and led their creative direction after leaving Nike in 1987.
