The Galleries Community Shop & Cafe was built by and is owned and run by the people of Freshford and Limpley Stoke.

It’s welcoming, friendly and strives to provide affordable, high quality and sustainable products from local producers Following the example of many other community shops, Galleries Shop & Café is owned and run by the community. We aim to have everything a normal household needs – with an emphasis on local, fresh, fairtrade, and a minimum of waste. The Galleries Shop opened its doors in August of

2009, in a brand-new environmentally sound building, on the edge of the Galleries Field, adjacent to Freshford’s Memorial Village Hall. You will find in our shop:

Affordable basics – local produce – wholefoods – organic foods – fairtrade products – fruit and veg – milk, cream and yoghurt – wine and beer – store-baked bread and croissants – freshly prepared coffee and home-made cakes – lunches – newspapers – local books and gifts.

We’ve got everything you need to bake the perfect classic Christmas cake, featuring ingredients from some of our favourite local suppliers.

Our Christmas Cake Kit (£26.99) includes all the dry ingredients and fresh fruit you’ll need just add eggs, butter, and brandy (full details on the label!). Gluten-free options are also available.

☕Cafe Announcement
We are all excited to welcome the Galleries Deli at Freshford to our cafe space. The team has been hard at work preparing the cafe for it's grand opening which will now be on Monday 7th.

We are sorry that the cafe will not be open over the weekend however a few days of closure will mean they are ready and raring to go by Monday! 🎉 We look forward to seeing many of you then!

🛍️The shop remains undisrupted by this change. And is open as usual, until 5pm Friday, and 9-12:30 Saturday and Sunday. Please do pop in and see us! 😁

We are sorry to say these two incredible ladies are hanging up their Galleries aprons later this year.
Nanneke will leave us in April after 7 years as the Galleries Shop Manager. Aliya will say her goodbyes in July before moving to Glasgow.
We will miss all that they have done to help build our shop and cafe into what it is today - and will be sure to give them a fitting send-off before they leave on their exciting new adventures.
