We're really sorry to announce that is being suspended for the foreseeable future from today. Our glorious issue published and distributed last week is our swansong for now.

We step away for now with our heads held high. We thank all our readers and advertisers for their support over many years and all our issues to date.

We have taken the decision to suspend the magazine in light of the current COVID-19 outbreak and exceptionally difficult trading conditions in the sector. In truth, trading has not been great for some time (other than the exceptional, one-off 100th), despite the sheer brilliance of our editor Jessica, the creativity of our designer Trev, and the commercial effort led by Claire.

We will continue to cover the local foodie scene through (contact editor Matt and ad director Pat) and (editor Deri and ad manager Neil). Our website, Twitter and Insta channels will stay open, albeit in reduced form. We are still planning to hold our in the autumn where there’ll be a hell of a shindig…

Meantime, if you have queries about any advertising that’s due in Crumbs please contact Claire (any forward bookings will be cancelled of course).

We wish you all the very best.

Jess, Claire and the Crumbs team

Is it dinnertime yet? We're craving all the veg, and this bake by UK Shallots is very much on the cards...

This filling recipe from UK Shallots is good and approachable for busy home-cooks on weeknights: the number of ingredients is minimal, the oven pulls most of the weight and the end result is full of the good stuff. Serve as a main course with salad and crusty bread.

Heard the word about 's newest taproom?

It's by The Cider Box and is opening next weekend in a Victorian rail arch.

The West Country is the home of proper English cider, so it’s only fitting that this staple sit should be properly celebrated in the region’s urban centre. The Cider Box will open its doors in

How are your weekend plans looking?

You could do a lot worse than spend the next two days eating and drinking your way up Gloucester Road.

Here's why: https://buff.ly/2TOjz0m

Probably the most famous road in the city, this stretch in North Bristol is a colourful hub of independent business, amongst which is a rich and ever-evolving collection of restaurants and bars. Here are just some of the reasons we heart the highly independent Gloucester Road…
