A Good Night's Sleep has picked up the audience award at FP Arts Short Film Festival as well as being nominated for best producer at West Lothian Film Festival.

A word from the director -

We are ecstatic to see our film being received so well. Whilst the director is often first to get hailed (or criticised) for a films success it shouldn't be the case. A film is made by a TEAM and not one person.

A Good Night's Sleep had a whole audience in stitches with John Rooney's hilarious script, which he graciously allowed us to use for our debut project.

It wouldn't have been made possibly if it wasn't for our producer Kevin who manages to open up opportunities out of thin air. He brought us the script, sourced funding and supported us throughout making it.

Andrew from Chalmers (Bathgate Cinema) initially funded this short and let us use the cinema as a studio. We even edited the film using the big screen and surround sound in the cinema itself.

Our two stars Carol and Jay played the perfect, not so perfect couple, in a situation just about everyone can relate to. Our DOP Sebastian who is essentially a one man film crew. He logistically made the film happen. Heather, who as well as helping produce the film, did just about everything else in between from costume to make up.

Oh and thanks to my wife for letting us use our house as a location for the shoot. This heavily disrupted our lives when we had just had our first child. Can't thank her enough.

We are already working on our next project and you can rest assure it will be bigger and better.

No Reel Productions are an award winning film production company based in central Scotland. We produce commercial work for local businesses as well music video for upcoming artists.

We use our profits to create original content such as our debut short film which we made last year. During filming, local business Liberta Restaurant were nice enough to let us use their beautiful restaurant as a shooting location. In return, we produced this commercial video showcasing their passion for food.

It is a very sad day to see Bathgate Cinema closing.

Not only were they our very first customer, to create this advert that landed on STV. But also, The Chalmers Group building has been home to our studio which unfortunately never got used to its potential.

We understand the decision fully and would like to thank the owner of the building Andrew who gave us the opportunity to produce this advert for him and who let us use his incredible building for creative purposes.

The studio will be moving to Alloa, which despite being further away is more suited for such purposes.

No Reel Productions has some big plans for this year. You should see a lot more action on our social media page showing some of the cool work we've been doing behind the scenes.

Last night we stepped away from recording live shows and took on the role of controlling the visuals on the gigantic projector screen at the famous SEC Armadillo for Movies to Musicals.

We had to perfectly time the content on screen to match the performance on stage. These visuals consisted of pre recorded interviews, sing along lyrics and some animated graphics made in house.

Thanks to Ross Gunning for getting us involved with a fantastic enterprise that helps young people develop their skills for a career in musical theatre.
