This time last year, we were lucky enough to enjoy watching a huge pod of dolphins (including baby dolphins 🥹) swimming around Penmon Point at sunset, with a cocktail in hand from the Pilot House Cafe.

While sandy shores might be the go-to for a classic “beach day,” White Beach offers something different — a little sanctuary of peace and quiet.
The path down from the car park is steep in places and often a bit overgrown at this time of year, which means it tends to stay free from the crowds that flock to the more popular tourist spots.

Children can spend hours here — stacking stones, creating imaginative games, or hunting for little treasures washed up by the tide. And for adults, it’s impossible not to be soothed by the rhythm of the waves, the mix of colours, sizes & shapes in the pebbles, and the freshness of the sea air.

It’s also the perfect place to get stuck into a book. With no phone signal, you can switch off from endless scrolling and truly unwind — leaving with a clearer head and lighter spirit.

Yesterday’s adventure: Porth Dafarch beach — and it’s safe to say we’ve found a new family favourite!

🌊 Shallow waters + sheltered cove = kids happy, parents relaxed
🚗 no problem finding a parking spot even at midday in August (a small miracle!)
🚻 Toilets: clean ✅ and free ✅
🍦 Food vans on hand — including Licence to Grill & Licence to Chill. Naturally we tried both… purely for “research purposes,” of course 😉 Delicious and great value.

Busy, yes — but in the best, buzzy summer way. We’ll be back very soon!
