Happy Christmas!

Changes are on the way!
Beccles Town Radio has been online for around 3 years. In that time we built up our audience to approximately 4000 listeners. We have also, free of charge, advertised local businesses, charities, clubs, events, Beccles public hall and theatre, Beccles Lido and much more. We have also broadcast interviews with local politicians, business owners, people appearing at Beccles Public Hall and many other local people.
In all that time, apart from Keith on the weekday breakfast show, we have not been able get any presenters that wanted to present a daily show. We have got some great presenters, who record a one or two hour show each week for the station, Most notably Brian Smith and his Sunday night Jazz show.
The station motto is "Made in Beccles for Beccles". Now though, Keith is moving out of the area to live closer to his two young grandchildren. Which means "Made in Beccles for Beccles" wouldn't apply. With no presenters to take over the daily show, or the station, we reluctantly have to cease broadcasting😢
If you love the music we play, there is a new local radio station coming onto Dab in September, which plays similar music, the sixties to today, plus, there are some very well known local voices presenting shows, including Keith who will be presenting the afternoon drive-time show, weekdays from 4 until 7.
Amber radio, is already doing test broadcasts online, the web address is simply Amber.radio
So, thank you for letting Beccles Town Radio be part of your life. it has been an honour to serve our wonderful town and you the people of Beccles.
Thank you 4000 times 😄
Hope to see you again soon on Amber!

The Great Garden Rail Trail happens Sunday 9th July! We've partnered with Greater Anglia and St Elizabeth Hospice to help raise funds for the charity as part of their annual garden trail with a twist, touring East Suffolk Line station gardens using the train!

The first stop is at the lovely garden at Westfield Station which has been transformed from nettles into a wildlife haven by the station adopters. There's also a stop at the wonderful Beccles Station Cafe for lunch, the terrific plans for a linear garden at Lowestoft and lots more.

Money raised will help fund the hospice’s work across East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.
