So September has been bumpy so far.

Just when I thought I was getting back to normality after the summer 🤪 my body decided it had other ideas and I've spent the last 10 days feeling dreadful with various issues.

Luckily the furry nurses have been doing their duty and I'm on the mend and very grateful to my lovely clients for their patience with me!

There’s just something about brand new stationary.

My daughter is starting a brand new school this week, so there’s definitely a feeling of change in our house at the moment.

The summer holidays are coming to an end, autumn is just around the corner and we’re getting ready to find our normal routines again.

September always feels a little bit like a fresh start. Not quite New Year, but a chance to get back into a routine, pick up the things that might have slipped over the summer and think about what you want the next few months to look like.

And that goes for business too.

Summer can be a strange time when you’re running a business, especially if you’re also juggling children, holidays and everything else that comes with it.

So if things haven't quite gone to plan over the last few weeks, September feels like a good time to draw a line under it and start again.

Although I'm not sure I'm quite as excited about getting back into a routine as my daughter is about all that new stationery. 😂

I took last week off to have some family time and celebrate my daughter turning 12.

I'm actually looking forward to September now. 🙈

As lovely as it's been without the school run it's like a new year when the school goes back so I'm on the final countdown now to a bit more of a routine!

Betsy is becoming a big sister this weekend 😻

After just over 3 years being catless this little lady is entering our lives from Stray Cat Rescue.

She's 3 months old and has lived with dogs in her foster home so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a smooth homecoming but I need all the information on the latest cat must haves.

My previous cats were 17 & 16 when they passed so it's been over 20 years since I have had a kitten.

Obviously she needs a cat dental wand from Inventor: Cat Care but otherwise I'm clueless so tell me all 😍

Sometimes, I wonder if people really know what a Virtual Assistant does.

No, I don't just answer emails (although I can!).

I'm the person behind the scenes helping business owners stay organised, keep on top of customer enquiries, manage diaries, support events, look after communities, organise podcasts, and generally untangle the admin that stops them focusing on the work they actually love.

I've spent my whole working life helping people. From customer service and administration to supporting business owners, it's what I genuinely enjoy.

There's nothing better than hearing a client say they finally feel less overwhelmed because everything is under control.

Sometimes you don't need another tool.

You need another pair of hands.

AI is brilliant. I use it in my own business and wouldn't be without it. But it's not always the solution.

Because AI still needs your time. It needs prompting, checking, refining and, in many cases, teaching it how your business works.

I've spent my working life helping people.

Whether it's been supporting customers, keeping admin organised, solving problems, or helping members of the public, I've always found the most rewarding part of any role has been making someone else's day a little easier.

A few years ago, that naturally evolved into supporting business owners through my own business as a VA.

Now I get to be the person behind the scenes who keeps things moving.

Managing inboxes and organising diaries, handling customer enquiries, supporting communities, coordinating podcasts and events, and taking care of the day-to-day admin that so often ends up on the bottom of a business owner's to-do list.

I know what it's like to wear every hat in a business.

Sometimes all you need is someone reliable in your corner who can take things off your plate, keep everything organised and give you the headspace to focus on the work only you can do.

Helping people has always been the common thread throughout my career.

The way I do it may have changed over the years, but the reason I do it hasn't.
