Yes, you heard me right - in the MIDDLE!

When you're planning your business book, you start with the main content that goes in the middle of your book.

Let's say you are designing a planner or tracker - perhaps a 30-day daily mindful habits tracker - you would create your daily pages first.

This might be one or two pages where you outline some important mindfulness habits like breathing techniques, journalling, meditation, and taking breaks.

You might create attractive visual representations of these things that your reader can tick off or colour in every day to track their habits.

Then once you are happy with the design, you replicate it 30 times for your 30 day tracker.

And then (and ONLY then!) you can decide what pages you want to put at the start and the end.

Maybe whilst designing your daily pages, you discovered that it would be helpful to include some pages at the start describing why someone might want to start a mindfulness practice, and some tips for getting started.

And perhaps you realised that you would like to include some blank journalling pages at the end.

It is by going through the process of creating your main content that you get clear on the other pages that you want to add in.

When you start creating your book, it can be overwhelming knowing where to start. 🤯

The best way to overcome this is to remind yourself of your client pain points, and the outcomes that you want them to have by using your book.

And then just sit down with some post-it notes and write one idea per note - a tool, process, habit, or step that you can teach your client, that will help them get unstuck and one step closer to where they want to be.

Try not to edit yourself at this stage: let the ideas flow, get them down on your post-its, and then come back to them fresh after a few days to start putting them into what feels like the right sequence.

By breaking it down this way, it feels a lot more manageable!

I’m a hugely passionate Life Coach, I love getting underneath the skin of what makes people tick, and helping them use this to achieve their biggest dreams.

Originally from the beautiful county of Cornwall, my career started in the corporate world, where I spent twenty years coaching individuals and teams, training, leading change programmes, and many other ‘corporate things’.

Falling ill with ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) for six years led me on a journey of personal discovery, where I had to dig deep to understand exactly what I needed to do to regain my health fully again. In the process I had a massive realisation: that instead of just using my talents in a corporate environment, I wanted to use my coaching skills and experience to help individuals to fundamentally transform their lives.
