And I’ll stand by that.

But let’s be honest… for a lot of us, resting isn’t simple.
If you don’t work, you don’t get paid.
There’s no sick pay.
No annual leave.
No one else picking things up while you switch off.
So you keep going. Even when you’re exhausted.

And for those with teams, it’s a different kind of hard isn’t it.
Letting go.
Not being in control 24/7.
Trusting things will be okay without you watching every little detail.

We’ve normalised burnout like it’s part of success.

But running on empty doesn’t build better businesses. It just builds resentment, stress, and constant overwhelm.

Taking a break doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It means you’re choosing to protect your energy so you can come back clearer, calmer, and stronger.

So if today feels heavy… let this be your permission to pause 🥰

See you soon… I’m officially off on my honeymoon! ✈️🌴

My husband and I are finally heading to the Caribbean for a much-needed switch-off, and I’ll be back Thursday 5th December.

I’ve wrapped up everything I needed to before heading off, and I’m really looking forward to having a proper break.

If you message or email me while I’m away, please don’t worry if you don’t hear back straight away. I’ll get back to you as soon as I’m home and settled back in.

People do judge a business by its visuals.

Not because they’re awful humans but because our brains are wired to make snap decisions. 👀

Good design isn’t “being fancy.”
It’s clarity. Consistency. Confidence.

It’s your business saying:
“I’ve got my sh*t together, you can trust me.”

But when your brand is giving mixed vibes?
Wrong fonts, 7 different colours, graphics that look like they were made during a lunch break…
People feel that too.
And they scroll. Fast. 😬

The good news?

You don’t need a dramatic rebrand to fix it.
Sometimes it’s just better layout choices, cleaner templates, or finally retiring that cursed font from 2019.

There’s research, design, strategy, engagement, captions that actually sound like you… and time.

Lots of time.

Marketing and admin are the invisible work that keeps everything moving. When they’re done right, they look effortless and that’s the problem.

People only see the final post, not the hours behind it.

In no other part of life do we decide someone’s worth based on numbers, so why do we do it on social media? ❌

You don’t meet someone and think, “Oh, you’ve only got 3 friends? Nah, not for me.” 🤷🏻‍♀️
Ridiculous, right?

But online, we see a business with 10K followers and instantly think they must be smashing it, while we start questioning what we’re doing wrong.

Here’s the thing… followers do matter to a point. They help more people find you, connect with you, and see what you offer. BUT what really matters is who those followers are. You want people who genuinely love what you do, not just empty numbers.

And honestly? A lot of those “10K” accounts you’re comparing yourself to… might’ve bought those followers 💰 (yep, it happens).

So don’t beat yourself up over fake competition that doesn’t even exist.

The reason you’re exhausted by your business and it’s not just because you’re “busy.” 👇

It’s because your brain never gets a break 🤯

When you’re the one running the show, your mind’s constantly jumping between client work, emails, social media, invoices, ideas for growth…
Even when you finally sit down with a cuppa, you’re probably still thinking about what’s next.

That mental load? It’s draining 😰

And the truth is, you’re not tired of your business, you’re tired of carrying all of it on your own.
