Life changing music at St Endellion. Amazing singing from Andrew Slater, Rachel Nicholls and Peter H***e, and cast in a tiny church, supported by a superb orchestra and chorus, expertly and sensitively marshalled by conductor Anthony Negus.
The glorious sound of Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman resounded around the perfect acoustic, but those of us in the front row were in a privileged position, literally inches away from the principals as they sang. It is extremely unusual to be so close to world class Wagnerians as they unleash a tsunami of sound at their audience - it was one of the most thrilling musical experiences of my life. And Wagner isn’t even my favourite composer….

Well done to the brave candidates who sat their Grade exams today! You’ve all worked very hard and I’m confident you’ll all do very well.
These days results come through in a couple of days which is amazing - when I did Grade Exams (they’d only just invented electricity and you had to watch out for dinosaurs on the way 😂) it used to take about six weeks: if you took an exam at this time of year you didn’t get the result until you got back to school in September!

I’m already looking forward to our next lessons : and discovering what music should come next in our piano adventure.
