And that’s a wrap! Last Countryside programme on BBC Radio Ulster BBC Radio Foyle and now up on BBC Sounds I’ve had an absolute ball this last six years presenting Farming Matters/Countryside and a pretty rollercoaster 21 years at the BBC. I’ve said all I needed to say at the end of my programme so thanks for the support folks. I’m keeping this page open as farming might still be in my future! Watch this space! X

Hello all. It's been a bit quiet here for a while but Countryside on BBC Radio Ulster is coming to an end on Sunday March 30. That's my last programme and last broadcast with the BBC before I head off to pastures new. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years - from my start presenting Farming Matters in 2019 to the change to Countryside in 2023. I have had a wonderful 21 year career with the BBC, both in TV and Radio, and I'll be sad to say goodbye to many of my wonderful colleagues. I have had an absolute ball visiting some brilliant, creative and warm hearted farmers and rural folk over the last six years - thank you for sharing your stories with me. And, with this in mind, if you'd like to be part of my last broadcast on March 30 please email NOW to [email protected] Maybe I've been at your farm, had a chat with you at the Balmoral Show, bumped into you at a farming event or you've enjoyed listening to the programme over the years. We will give you a call on the day and you can have a chat with some of my studio guests. Thanks for the memories folks and, as always, get out there an explore your Countryside! PS Here's me with the gorgeous Richard Wright when I first got involved in farming on Radio Ulster. Those were the days!

Dr Simon Doherty (far left) became one of the leading voices on animal health on Countryside and also a friend. Sadly he died yesterday after a short but courageous battle. I will treasure the last wonderful and inspiring email you sent to me. RIP Simon. You will be greatly missed.
