Thanks to The Carbon Literacy Project for the feature this month as we work towards delivering carbon neutral video projects for our customers.

A lot of work left to do but lots of opportunities ahead.

Can video production be sustainable? 🎬🌍

This month’s top Carbon Literacy Climate Action comes from Peter Craven, Creative Director at BlueSky Video Marketing.

Since their Carbon Literacy training in 2024, Peter and his team have been putting climate action into motion — from tracking emissions using the AdGreen sustainable production calculator to working toward B-Corp and AdGreen accreditation with the support of Gillian McKee at Giraffe Associates.

“We’re identifying where our biggest impacts lie and developing strategies to reduce emissions across all new projects. We’re also exploring carbon-neutral productions by refining project management and involving our clients in creative climate action.”

From behind the camera to behind the scenes, Peter and the team are proving that sustainability and storytelling can go hand in hand. 🎥♻️

A new documentary by Bluesky Films, Lush! Lives, tracks the evolution of the legendary club night Lush!, which was held at Kelly's Portrush from 1996 to 2020.

Last year we launched a film that was the very definition of mixing business with pleasure.

I spent the best part of 3 years making a film about Lush! in Portrush and we launched it in the old place with an after-party featuring a lineup of the resident DJ's from across its 24 year history - and headlined by John Cecchini with what he announced was to be his final DJ performance.

(He'd 'retired' about 6 times already - but he actually meant it this time and has been true to his word).

Researching and making the film was definitely the most fun I've ever had at work.

We've now uploaded the film to YouTube (and avoided any copyright strikes for the music!) so to celebrate the anniversary of its launch it goes live tomorrow night.

At one of the cinema screenings one of the old residents said it was "a love letter to Lush!".

I hadn't thought of it like that before - but it's a description that works for me.

Hopefully it's something that'll be enjoyed by people who may not have experienced Lush! - but who understand just what a fantastic time it was to be alive!

We’re celebrating our “Living Wage Employer” anniversary this month.

This is something that’s very important to us - but not as important as bringing an end to unpaid internships.

These are discriminatory by design, restricting access to only those who can afford to do unpaid work.

But even leaving that aside - if you’ve got work that needs done, pay people for doing it.

What trade shows have you got on the agenda for 2025?

We're working with the team at CQMS as we count down to the 2025 edition of their show which takes place next June in Molloy's Quarry, Tullamore.

They've got some big plans with expanded demo areas - and it remains the only construction, quarry, mining and recycling equipment show in Ireland that takes place in a quarry.

As news for. Friday evening goes - this one’s pretty good.

Doing the very best job we possibly can for our customers has always been at the very core of what we do. We don’t get it 100% right all of the time but everything we do has its foundations in trying to do the best job possible.

An exceptional customer experience is what we shoot for every time - we may sometimes miss that mark but the relentless pursuit of better is what we do every day.
