🌼A TASTE OF HOPE – TITANIC HOTEL BELFAST SERVES UP YELLOW DAISY AFTERNOON TEA FOR CHOSEN CHARITY🌼

is inviting guests to experience a very special afternoon tea with a difference. To mark Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the hotel has developed a unique limited-edition Yellow Daisy Afternoon Tea, created in support of its official charity partner, .

Inspired by the charity’s daisy flower, which symbolises hope and resilience, the new menu has been thoughtfully curated and themed by Titanic Hotel Belfast’s executive chef Alistair Fullerton. Guests can indulge in a reimagined version of the hotel’s classic afternoon tea, with an array of sweet and savoury delights presented with a yellow flourish, all while raising vital funds to support children and families impacted by cancer.

The pastry selection has been designed around the season’s fresh and uplifting flavours from zesty lemon and passionfruit to smooth vanilla and pineapple, with each sweet treat crafted to capture a balance of brightness and indulgence, with delicate choux, teacakes and signature Titanic Hotel Belfast macarons reimagined this season with the refined pairing of matcha and white chocolate.

The Yellow Daisy Afternoon Tea is being served in the Harland Bar at Titanic Hotel Belfast daily, between 12:00pm and 4:30pm, until 19 October. Guests can choose from the Yellow Daisy Afternoon Tea priced at £45, or a range of afternoon tea options by adding Prosecco, Champagne or treating themselves to the exclusive Yellow Daisy Cocktail Afternoon Tea which is priced at £55 per person.

From each purchase of Afternoon Tea, diners will be donating £6 to Cancer Fund for Children, ensuring that every guest’s experience makes a meaningful difference. All proceeds raised will go directly to the charity to help provide essential support services for children and their families navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis.

And I was delighted to be invited to the fabulous launch last week. The awards are bigger and if possible, better than ever this year. They have outgrown their previous venue and are heading to for the big night in January. It’s an amazing night out to celebrate what is great about East Belfast. 🏗️

The tenth Eastside Awards in association with has launched with new categories, new sponsors and a new venue partner for the awards ceremony, showcasing the best of East Belfast.

The stunning milestone tenth anniversary awards will take place in the iconic surroundings of Titanic Belfast on Friday 30 January 2026 and celebrate an eclectic mix of finalists from applications submitted directly to Eastside Awards and online public voting via media partner Belfast Live.

Jonathan McAlpin, Chief Executive of East Belfast Enterprise and Chair of the Eastside Awards Committee, said: “The Eastside Awards has become a jewel in the city’s awards calendar and a true celebration of the best of East Belfast. Over the past decade, almost 400 individuals, businesses, schools, community projects, arts organisations, volunteers, sports and young people have participated in the awards and been recognised for their creativity, achievement and resilience. We have been proud to play our part in honouring them with an Eastside Award.

“The tenth Eastside Awards will shine a spotlight on individuals and organisations whose hard work, creativity, passion, and achievements make East Belfast a vibrant and inspiring place to live, work, and visit. This year’s awards feature 21 categories, offering opportunities for local businesses, schools, community groups, and individuals to apply and be nominated and I want to encourage anyone with a story to tell about what they’ve achieved for this corner of Belfast to tell us, because we want to celebrate you!”

🚲100 state-of-the-art e-bikes introduced to Belfast Bikes fleet for first time, as new Beryl bikes launch across the city🚲

The Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Tracy Kelly, will join Beryl CEO, Phil Ellis, at City Quays Gardens today to welcome and unveil new e-bikes added to the Belfast Bikes fleet for the first time.

🚲 All 60 existing Belfast Bikes docking stations will remain in their current locations. 300 new pedal bikes will also be introduced later this year, bringing the total fleet to 400, made up of 100 e-bikes and 300 pedal bikes.
🚲 The new e-bikes have added thanks to funding by the Department for Infrastructure (DfI), with £500,000 provided as part of a boost to support active travel projects across Northern Ireland.
🚲 As part of the new Beryl Belfast Bikes fleet, users will benefit from affordable and flexible pay-as-you-go pricing, which includes a small ‘unlock’ fee and a straightforward per-minute charge which reduces the more you use the bikes.

Boxing champion Carl Frampton MBE swung into action last night to prepare the course for tomorrow’s Oscar Knox Cup. He was ably assisted by wee Oscar’s grandad!

Play starts early tomorrow with Carl and Paddy Barnes among those teeing off in the 10th and final Oscar Knox Cup sponsored by Balloo Hire at Fortwilliam Golf Club.

Wee Oscar Knox captured the hearts of the nation during his high-profile fight with neuroblastoma, but tragically passed away in 2014 at just five years old. In his memory, his parents Stephen and Leona created the Oscar Knox Fund and launched an annual charity golf day that has now raised over £200,000 for vital research into the disease.
