It’s 1979. Kitty is pregnant — and alone.

In a Mother and Baby Home, young women hold each other up with sharp, dark humour against a backdrop of war and silence.

Based on Caitríona’s lived experience at Marianvale in Newry, this powerful play lays bare a dark chapter of Irish history — and calls on all impacted to raise their voices.

✨Just Announced ✨

After a sell-out tour last year across the North of Ireland, Sole Purpose Productions presents The Marian Hotel by Caitriona Cunningham, directed by Patricia Byrne, at the Millennium Forum on 23rd and 24th February 2026.

The play is based on the writer’s lived experience of being in Marianvale mother and baby home in the 1970s. It is a searing portrayal of a dark time in Irish history. The young women hold each other up with sharp, dark humour. The magnificent cast will take you on a journey that is mesmerising and intensely moving.

Eeeeeeks, the one we've been waiting a while to see! Trespasses starts tonight at 9pm on Channel 4 with a new episode every night at the same time until Wednesday 12th November. It features 4 Premier Artists: Adam Dougal, Michael Johnston, Brenda McNeill, and Breige Roche.

Trespasses is the story of Cushla, a young Catholic schoolteacher whose life in 1975 Northern Ireland is shadowed by the Troubles. Amid curfews, bombings, and betrayals, she works nights in her family's pub, serving both sides and British soldiers, when she meets and falls for Michael - an older, married Protestant barrister.

Their affair is intoxicating and dangerous. Cushla's world is full of defiant spirits: her drunk, sharp-tongued mother Gina, her lively pupils, and beloved colleague Gerry. As the forbidden love between Cushla and Michael deepens, violence looms and tensions rise. Cushla is pulled between duty and desire, family and freedom.

We are super excited about seeing Housejackers tomorrow evening, showing as part of Belfast Film Festival. Featuring Premier Artists Saorlaoith Brady and Adam Murphy alongside John Travers, Finnian Garbutt, Eubha Akilade, Ryan Early, Anna Healy, and Conor MacNeill, it's sure to be a good 'un!

From the twisted minds behind the sitcom of the year, Funboys, comes this darkly funny psychological drama about family and identity.

Raymond is stuck. He’s stuck stacking shelves. He’s stuck living with middle-class students who don’t understand him. He’s stuck in his own head, unable to make his mind up. After a chance encounter with his former foster brother Jerdy on a night out, Raymond rediscovers a part of himself he’d long forgotten. Loose-cannon Jerdy soon moves in with Raymond, to the chagrin of his housemates. When things soon get out of hand, Raymond tries to cut ties with Jerdy, but he’s not going without a fight.

How much do we owe to the person we used to be? This is at the heart of Housejackers and the tricky relationship between Raymond and Jerdy, as they try to navigate a once close brotherhood that has drifted apart. They are brought to life by Finnian Garbutt and John Travers in two magnetic performances that are just as raw and vulnerable as they are funny. The film pokes fun at the surreal chaos of student housing and the absurd banality of being in your mid-20s. Lennon’s feature debut is a distinctly Northern Irish comedy, it’s bold and hilarious but sensitive and moving. A film of rising stars in front of and behind the camera.
