Meet the OFFBEAT team: Imogen Williams (Imogen and the Knife)

Forged in Newcastle and honed in South-East London, Imogen and the Knife carves an incandescent path through alternative pop, drawing on the north's songwriter tradition to elicit deep emotional responses from her audience. She's drawn comparisons to Kate Bush, Nick Cave, Fiona Apple and Rufus Wainwright, and uses "the Knife" as a symbol of reclamation — a motif threading through her life and songwriting that gives her lyrics their cutting precision.

For OFFBEAT, Imogen brings that same fearless, personal songwriting approach — helping participants dig into the messier, more visceral parts of their own stories and turn them into something that lands.

I'm so excited this event is part of this year's Output Belfast programme of events.

Introducing OFFBEAT. A one-off, one day round robin songwriting camp for disabled, d/Deaf and neurodivergent songwriters, brought to you by New Paradigm Music, my own promotions and management company.
