Juno Review:
Wax Digits hits release number five with a tight and tidy two-tracker from the late veteran Robert Ouimet who passed a couple of years ago. Before then he cooked up these gems with his pal and production partner Dave Godin. They are being released as a tribute to the memory of Ouimet and a fine one they are too. 'Plenty' has a raw groove and big chords with jangling guitars adding hints of melancholy that counter the big stabs. Soulful vocals are a great finishing touch then 'Funky Together' is more loose and strident with big horns leading the way under psyched-out chords. Two quality party starters.

Juno Download Review: Andy Bach is enjoying a very productive 2025, with this EP for Hot Digits Music - a label debut, we think - following appearances on Lisztomania, See-Saw, Spa in Disco, Recovery House and Loyal House. The German producer is on form here too, delivering funky, sample-rich jams that tiptoe the fine line between nu-disco and disco-house. Lead cut 'Do It To Me' comes in two variations: the catchy electric piano-lick-propelled deep disco house colour of the 'original extended mix' and the chunkier, lightly acid-flecked weight of the superior 'original dub mix'. The fun continues on 'Feel The Melody', a percussion-rich, filter-wrapped fusion of rave-era vocal samples, restless riffs and tactile house positivity, before Bach rounds off a rock-solid EP via the sparkling, life-affirming, space disco funkiness of 'Like It Hot'.

Here's the recent B2B session with the Discoworks Posse (Victor Coburn, Emma B and myself) recorded on the terrace of Belfast's Bullitt Hotel at this years Gay Pride event in Belfast.
