Dunno about you but this World Cup feels like pish already right? Racist immigration nause. VAR raising its irritating head in the opening bloody game. Infantino. Trump. Annoying kick off times. And the stupid new enlarged format which clogs up the tournament with pointless minnows like Curacao, Cape Verde and Scotland.

Tony Regan will no doubt be going full on Tartan Army this year, given that his traditional antipathy towards the Scottish FA may have waned a wee bit following their conspiracy to deny Hearts the SPL title (FACT).

Anyway, if you wanna shut out all the noise, look no further than this glorious 2 hours and 17 minutes of musical bliss. That's bliss not pish.

As the late Sonny Rollins (RIP) once said "music represents nature". And as sure as London becomes a raging furnace hell hole (aka sees a bit of sun), our Phil comes along with a trailer load of selections that provide the perfect sounds.

Whether its Adrian Sherwood's sumptuous basslines sending your mind into the wide blue yonder above as you contemplate the beautiful diversity all round in your London park of choice or maybe Ninjaman just looking to kick off with everybody - we've got just the right sounds for a summer in the city.

So sit back, soak up the rays, drink a cold one and relax - but not too much cos it looks like that annoying family just pushed in to the ice cream queue and things are about to go.

After the developments over the last week with certain people getting their house in order and suggestions of a popular Mancunian coming back into the frame, it would appear there is an on going power struggle and an inevitable challenge to the leadership coming. Some think the current leadership is losing popularity and to save it things must change now.
But thats enough about the internal wranglings of the Family Tree Executive Board of which I'm sure you have no interest so long as we just keep on getting the job done properly!

And on that note we are doing exactly that by bringing you another blistering show from our very own Danny 'The Captain' O'Connor. We asked Danny if he could open a small audio window to let us peer in and get a flavour of his listening habits and possibly even a sense of the world he inhabits. Well this is a snapshot of that place and somewhere you need to check out!

Back by dope demand rapped a certain King Bee 36 years ago and today it is equally apt as Steve Tee returns to the FT wheels of steel.

Following an excellent debut show earlier this year which featured a devastating array of connoisseur's cuts and diggers delights, the people at Discogs got in touch to ask if we could get Steve back as they hadn't experienced a surge in sales that huge since Prince died! We have of course duly obliged.

So get your note books at the ready, sharpen your pencils and get stuck in.

So Family Tree enters a new era. A first reset in 8 years - Keir Starmer take note.

While we're not throwing anyone under a bus or changing our leader (just yet), the new fortnightly Friday format should help bring about the change this country needs. Who knows if this will help us reach those hard to reach listeners in coastal towns and the former red wall. But the music will be better than an Angela Rayner deejay set, that's for sure.

Launching this new era, we see the return of the prodigal son and people's favourite from Manchester - yep, Ben Arnold. Everything from Alice Coltrane to the Thompson Twins - think that's what they call triangulation in politics.

Right, let's relaunch!

Tracklist:
Thompson Twins – Leopard Ray
Daniel Villerreal – Things Can Be Calm (feat. Jeff Parker & Anna Butterss)
Julia Mestre – Sou Fera
Armand Hammer & The Alchemist – Black Sunlight (feat. Kayana)
Yusef Kamaal – Strings of Light

Fletcher & Steve O'Sullivan – Flutter D
ave DK – We Mix At Six
Soul of Hex – Pharoah Machine
Andre Harris – Pecking Peace

Frankie Goes To Hollywood – Welcome To The Pleasuredome (Pleasurefix)

As we approach our 400th show (yeah I know right!) we thought it would be a good time to bring back one of our all time favourite guests, Tim Indulge.

Tim was most famously one half of the crew (together with Brendan) that ran influential London club night Indulge...the place Frankie Knuckles used to call his London home! You can still catch Tim guest DJing out in the wild at select events like Low Life's 30 Love and the Brixton Disco Festival or you can just bump into him on an array of discerning dancefloors up and down the country which is always a pleasure either way!

If you dig back to May 2021 on our page you can find Tim's inaugural outing for Family Tree (well worth another visit). This time he has turned out another truly magnificent show for us featuring 2 hours of oddities, rarities and straight up dance floor bombs collated from his extensive collection.

Do not miss this beauty!

When I arrived at the FT office this morning I discovered 2/3rds of the staff have pulled a 'sicky' and said they're not coming in due to last night's outing to Giant Steps with the marvellous Mr Scruff.

Reports are that Scruff was absolutely on point and had the joint hopping so much so that they had to clear the beanbags away well before 6pm. Anyway, reprimands will be issued in due course to all skivers here but to be fair you can't blame anyone for wanting to be in that room, with that system, and that DJ at the controls. It truly is something to behold and merits a sicky in anyone's book.

Still, life's all about the Ying & Yang so here comes our very own scruffbag Luke to counter balance that with 2 hours of his own take on 'dance music'.

Track list:

In celebration of Celtic notching up their 42nd Scottish Cup and beating the hun at Ibrox we have FT's favourite hoop man Tony Regan back in the chair.

It must be said Tony's show is less like an old firm fracas and more like a deep bath with Alan Partridge (but with better music and no faux pas) as he kicks off in familiar folky jazzy territory before returning to the deep from whence he came.
Over 2 hours of all the good stuff. All killer and no filler. As always!
