"The worst thing about it is the pain, but the smell…"

In this short video, Chantell shares how wound malodour affected her confidence, emotional wellbeing, and daily life, frrom anxiety to self-isolation.

Wound malodour isn’t just a physical symptom; it has a lasting emotional impact on patients and those around them. By recognising this early and addressing it openly, we can improve patient care and protect dignity.

Every day, thousands of single-use bandages are applied and then thrown away. 🌍

By switching to reusable compression wraps, we can reduce waste, save clinical time, and help free up nursing visits, while still delivering effective care.

It’s a small change that adds up to a big impact.

💬"Different symptoms affect people differently."

For many patients, wound malodour can be as distressing as pain, yet it’s often assessed only as part of a wider list of symptoms.
Its impact on confidence, social life, and emotional wellbeing can be significant, not just for the patient but for those who care for them.

By recognising malodour as a distinct challenge from the very first assessment, we can have more open conversations and make care plans that protect dignity as well as physical health.
