Did you know that Loch Katrine is around 8 miles long and 0.6 miles wide at its widest point?

The beautiful loch has been the inspiration for countless creative works across the arts, including next week's event!

Of course, Loch Katrine is the setting for "The Lady of the Lake", the Sir Walter Scott poem. This would then become the basis of an opera called La donna del lago by Gioachino Rossini!

In the 1890's, a soon-to-be-popular bagpipe march, "The Athole Highlanders Farewell to Loch Katrine", was composed by William Ross.
