It’s time. The Great Escape Festival’s First Fifty is back this November, and in true Dork fashion we’re bringing a heavy don’t-miss lineup of new names that we’re quite excited about to the famous Sebright Arms. You know the drill.

Bathing Suits, chest. and Shrink will take over Sebright Arms in London on Thursday 12th November, as First Fifty kicks off the countdown to The Great Escape 2027. The multi-venue event brings together the first wave of artists confirmed for next May’s festival, with shows taking place across East London.

Heading up our bit of the night are Leeds four-piece Bathing Suits, winners of the Steve Strange Award at The Great Escape earlier this year. They’ve since released debut EP ‘KILL BATHING SUITS’ and have become known as one of the very best new live bands going. chest. arrive after releasing a string of no-nonsense singles this year and a Rockaway Beach set in January that left us desperate for more, while Bristol’s Shrink should already be familiar to anyone who caught them on our Dot To Dot stage earlier this year. Very exciting, you need to see them now.

Tickets are on sale NOW, and if 2026 is anything like 2025’s First Fifty takeover you’ll want to move quick. Expect only the loudest and the best.

We heard you we heard you. After selling out our Dork’s Night Out show in London, we’re taking Joe Jerome to Manchester - adding an extra special Dork’s Night Out show on Saturday 10th October! And tickets are on sale now!

Taking over New Century Hall’s Locker, JJerome87 will be joined once more by the ace Kamran Khan

The solo project of alt-J vocalist and chief songwriter Joe Newman, JJerome87 released debut album ‘The Canyon’ earlier this year. Recorded in Los Angeles and co-produced by Newman and Carlos de la Garza, it features singles ‘Brush Me Like A Horse’, ‘Track And Field’ and ‘Mr Alligator’.

Support comes from Kamran Khan, who releases debut album ‘I Came From Nowhere & Nowhere Is Where I Am Going’ on 25th September via AWAL. He’s previously released music as Fake Laugh, as well as playing and recording with The Japanese House, Let’s Eat Grandma and Flyte.

Cara Delevingne knows exactly what you think about actors making albums, and she isn’t interested in arguing.

“I know that there are a lot of people who are going to see that I’ve done an album and think, ‘Why the f**k would I even listen to that?’,” she says of ‘Not Normal’. “And I get it. I’d probably feel the same way if I were in their shoes. But this isn’t for them.”

A lifetime in the making and written on the other side of getting sober, it pulls from hyperpop, alt-rock, folk and musical theatre without once playing it safe. “I didn’t want to pussyfoot around anything. I’m extreme. I can’t just swing a little bit.”

Ten years on from ‘Lady Wood’, Tove Lo has no interest in an anniversary tour.

“That’s something I’ll do when I’m 80,” she grins. Instead, there’s ‘Estrus’, thirteen tracks bouncing between lust, love, self-destruction and late-night transcendence, made with the full freedom of going independent. “

I’m a grown-ass woman and here’s what I’m feeling,” she says of it. “Maybe you won’t feel like you have any answers at the end of it, but hopefully you’ll feel more understood.”

Keo have stopped trying to keep up. “I’ve given up on processing things,” says Finn Keogh, which seems reasonable for a band who’ve picked up a major deal, sold-out shows across the country, a Kentish Town Forum date and a Brixton Academy headline before anyone’s heard the album.

‘Put A Smile On For Me’ was written and recorded at speed - fifteen songs in ten days, self-produced in a small studio - and he’s already plotting the follow-up. “I don’t want us to be playing bigger rooms and sounding exactly the same.”

Lizzy McAlpine went to Broadway for five months because she’d stopped enjoying making music. She had sixteen songs ready before she left.

“The universe was like, ‘you’re not ready to make this album yet’,” she says, and the ones she wrote in New York turned out to be the glue holding ‘Angel’ together. “I wanted to find myself, and I think I did that through this album.”

Afters anyone? Dork (that’s us!) is teaming up with the team at Assoc of Independent Music to host this year’s Independent Music Awards Official Afterparty at the famous Barfly Camden - and we’ve brought some mates along for the ride!

Following on from the ceremony itself on Tuesday 22nd September, we’re packing all the pop nonsense and late night silliness into a scorching takeover in the heart of Camden for a proper party that’s worth booking the next morning off for. Spread across two floors at Barfly and just over the road from the main ceremony at The Roundhouse, we’re opening pits late into the night headlined by longtime Dork favourites FEET bringing the sort of unstoppable live show perfect for the late hours on Camden High Street. They’ll be joined by buzzing newcomer jo ꗃ in the live room with our very own Dork DJs soundtracking the party bangers late into the night downstairs. Will we play the Vengaboys? We probably will play the Vengaboys.

With guests from the ceremony itself swinging through, who knows what will happen - but we know you should be there. That’s why a limited number of tickets are now on-sale via DICE, guaranteeing you entry to a party that raises a toast to all things Independent Music and promises to be one of those ’this is rather ridiculous’ live nights that Camden is known for. You know the ones we mean.

The Independent Music Awards takes place on Tuesday 22nd September, with the awards themselves hosted at The Roundhouse (just over the road). Bringing together artists, labels and businesses from across the independent community celebrating achievements across recorded music, live performance and much more - this year’s nominees are led by Fcukers, Jim Legxacy, Geese, Wet Leg, Robyn, Jorja Smith, Romy, Jalen Ngonda and Mitski amongst many others.
