In the Room TV/Film Workshop with Casting Director Jonny Boutwood 🎬

Jonny has been working in casting for 13 years. He began by working in Regional and West End Theatre and then, after three years, moved into TV and Film.
Throughout his years as an associate and assistant, Jonny has been privileged to work and learn from some of the most prolific Casting Directors in the UK. He has spent the last seven years working with Shaheen Baig on a wide range of TV series including; THE VIRTUES, THREE GIRLS, THE GALLOWS POLE, I AM series and GET MILLIE BLACK. Also Independent Films, such as; SCRAPPER, PIRATES, THE NEST, SUPERNOVA and RARE BEASTS.
Jonny has most recently been Co-Casting with Shaheen on the Television series of HANNA (Amazon Prime), BOILING POINT (BBC) and the Documentary THE PIGEON TUNNEL (Apple TV+)

What’s involved? ⬇️

Actors will be sent scripts to prepare in advance and perform in front of Jonny who will give them feedback and direction. The workshop will end with a Q&A.

This workshop adheres to CDG guidelines and is not an audition.

Michael Socha is an English actor, known for his roles in television series This Is England, Being Human, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, The Gallows Pole, Showtrial and DI Ray amongst many others.

What’s involved? ⬇️
Following a quick intro Michael will get you straight into the action providing you with improvisational scenarios, feedback and guidance to improve and hone your improv skills. Scenes will be discussed and you will have the opportunity to take onboard the notes given and then put your new found skills into practice once more.
Time permitting Michael will take questions and provide some invaluable insight into becoming a working actor and life on set.

Here are some stills from our recent Masterclass Workshop with award winning director Steve Kelly. It was the most amazing day showcasing the great talent Brum has to offer! Steve gave invaluable insight into what happens on-set and also into the industry as a whole. Constructive feedback was given to each actor and he was truly impressed with what he had seen.
We would like to thank all the actors who came to the workshop and look forward to welcoming hopefully a few more new faces to the next ones. 🎥
