Thousands Gather for Eid Prayer at Small Heath Park Organized by Green Lane Masjid

Thousands of worshippers came together this morning at Small Heath Park for the grand Eid prayer organized by Green Lane Masjid. The annual event, one of the largest outdoor Eid gatherings in the UK, saw families and individuals from across the city join in prayer and celebration.

The congregation arrived early, filling the park with an atmosphere of devotion and unity. A special Eid sermon was delivered before the prayer, emphasizing the importance of faith, gratitude, and community.

“We are honored to have attended and covered the iftar event organized last night by Birmingham Citizens is in their 12th year as the city’s only civil society membership alliance @ Newman university.

The evening was a beautiful celebration of unity, generosity, and the spirit of Ramadan.

The evening was filled with delicious traditional food, meaningful conversations,.The event brought together people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate the spirit of Ramadan, fostering unity and understanding. “We were thrilled to have taken part in and covered last week’s event ( On Tuesday, 4 February 2025) for Citizens UK, where over 100 leaders from Citizens UK’s regional membership gathered at Ark Victoria Academy in Small Heath. United in purpose, they committed to deep listening and collective action.”
Community organising is about bringing people together to create community-led solutions., Aberystwyth University students—supported by Citizens UK and the university’s Students’ Union (Undeb Aber) staff—came together to share their experiences on key issues affecting student life. From housing conditions and the cost of living crisis to navigating daily life as international students, attendees found common ground and identified shared interests through discussions led by the community organising team.
A major highlight of the event was witnessing students’ deep commitment to driving change—not just for themselves but for future students and the wider community. Huge thanks to Citizens UK for funding this event and equipping students with the tools to make a real difference, as well as to the community organising staff and organisers for facilitating meaningful discussions that encouraged reflection and connection.
