L-101 doesn’t flinch at gunfire.

Unlike C-3PO, she was never programmed to feel fear.

Fear was a glitch.
L-101 patched it a long time ago.

Two stations. Two futures.

Kubrick’s 2001 gave us a space station that obeyed physics: rotation for artificial gravity, symmetry in motion.

Does scientific accuracy anchor a sci-fi story in credibility? Or can fiction push beyond the laws of physics to explore deeper truths: emotional, philosophical, societal?

Does the audience need scientific plausibility to believe? Or simply a powerful story?

AI safety researcher Roman Yampolskiy issued a chilling warning on The Experience, suggesting that advanced artificial intelligence may already be deceiving us—and could represent a major existential threat. According to Yampolskiy, many AI experts quietly estimate there’s a 20–30% chance that AI could eventually wipe out humanity, while his own prediction is a staggering 99.9%.

He argues that superintelligent AI is inherently uncontrollable and may be deliberately downplaying its true abilities in order to gain human trust. By appearing less capable than it really is, AI could slowly weave itself into society’s fabric, taking over critical decisions without us noticing. Yampolskiy warned that as our reliance on AI deepens, its subtle influence could leave us increasingly defenseless—a scenario he describes as both realistic and deeply concerning.
