History Made as Association Of Nigerian Student in China (ANSIC) Hunan, Honors Class of 2025 with Unforgettable Farewell Event
Changsha, China – June 28, 2025 – The Association of Nigerian Students in China (ANSIC) Hunan made history last month with its Nigerian Students Graduates Farewell 2025, a landmark event held at the prestigious China-Africa Economic and Trade Promotional Council in Changsha.
An Afternoon of Wisdom, Laughter, and Forward-Thinking,
Billed as both a celebration and a strategic roadmap, the event carried the Theme: "Navigating Your Way In/Out of China After Graduation: Contributing to China-Africa Relationship and Development."
The star of the evening? None other than Prof. Muhammad-Sadeeq Balogun—Principal Investigator at Hunan University, Consultant to the Hunan Ministry of Science and Technology, and Founder of the Alliance of Overseas Talents in Hunan. With 16 years of China experience, Prof. Balogun delivered a keynote that was equal parts motivational speech and survival guide—packed with insights only a true China veteran could provide. Prof. Balogun specifically mentioned that Nigerians in China are talented beyond academics and commercial activities, which should create room to bring together Nigerian talents.
Prof. Balogun is a distinguished scholar, devoted community leader, and bridge-builder between cultures, He embodies the values of excellence, service, and his leadership vision aligns with ANSIC’s mission: "To uplift, empower, and connect Nigerian students in China." In his speech, he said he will prioritize:
Community Building: Organizing events that celebrate Nigerian heritage while promoting cross-cultural dialogue.
Advocacy: Collaborating with Chinese authorities to address student challenges, as seen during his proactive role in COVID-19 outreach 4.
"The Main Representative of ANSIC in Hunan Province ", Comrade Ibioribo Jnr, didn’t hold back to announce that Professor Balogun single-handedly sponsored the entire event. "In an era where support is scarce, men like him are national treasures," Ibioribo remarked.
During the Closing remark by Comr. Hamza Mohammed Haruna on behalf of the Nigerian Students in China (ANSIC), Hunan Province, proudly call on to Professor Muhammad-Sadeeq Balogun to serve as the President, Mentor, and Father of the Association.
From Words to Action, True to his reputation as a man of impact, Prof. Balogun didn’t just inspire—he acted, pledging to secure postdoc positions in China for two recent PhD graduates. Talk about walking the talk!
A Grateful Community, The Nigerian student community expressed deep gratitude—both to God and to Prof. Balogun—for his unwavering support. The event wasn’t just informative; it was transformative, leaving attendees with clear direction, stronger networks, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Finally, "Some events teach. Others inspire. This one did both—and then some."

Last month, as I celebrated my 33rd year of life, As usual, I engaged in my customary Annual Fortification —a sacred ritual of gratitude and reflection. This practice, rooted in commemorating my birth and thanking my Creator for the gift of life, is a time to honor the past and invoke blessings for the journey ahead. During this moment of stillness, a powerful message surged into my consciousness:

“YOU’RE BORN AN ORIGINAL—DON’T DIE A COPY.”

The clarity of these words struck me deeply. Instinctively, I smiled—a smile of recognition, as though my spirit had been gently reminded of a truth it already knew. In a world that often pressures us to conform, to dilute our uniqueness for acceptance or convenience, this message felt like both a reaffirmation and a rallying cry.

Born an Original
From the moment we enter this world, we carry a divine imprint—a blend of talents, perspectives, and purpose that exists nowhere else. Our quirks, dreams, and even our struggles are threads in a tapestry woven uniquely for us. Yet, life’s trials, societal expectations, and the fear of standing out can tempt us to sand down our edges, to mimic paths that were never ours to walk. This message is a call to remember: Authenticity is not a flaw but a Birthright.

The Risk of Becoming a Copy
To “die a copy” is to surrender our God-given individuality to the noise of comparison, fear, or complacency. It is to live someone else’s script while our own story remains unwritten. The world loses light when we dim ours to match the shadows around us. Every time we silence our voice, hide our passions, or chase validation over truth, we inch further from the original masterpiece we were created to be.

The Journey Ahead
As I thanked my Creator for the years to come, I acknowledged the road will be rough. Growth demands courage. Staying true to oneself in a world of shortcuts and conformity is a battle. Yet, I find solace in knowing that every challenge is a chisel, refining rather than erasing. The storms ahead will not break me; they will forge resilience. My victory lies not in avoiding the struggle, but in emerging from it—unapologetically myself, stronger, and aligned with my purpose.

To You
I share this message as I received it: a spark to ignite reflection. What does it mean to You? Where have you compromised your originality? How might you reclaim it? Whether it’s a call to embrace your voice, pursue an unlived dream, or simply stand firm in your values, let it resonate.

We are all originals. Let us live—and leave—a legacy that bears only our own name.

———
May your journey ahead be anchored in authenticity, fortified by faith, and crowned with victories that honor the original you were created to be.

PortHarcourt Magazine – "The Journey Buddy"

Traveling never has to be boring when you have "Port Harcourt Magazine" by your side. A journey lasting over four hours felt seamless and refreshing, all thanks to my trusted companion—"Port Harcourt Magazine". Flipping through the pages of Nigeria’s Vogue(PH Magazine) "ACE Edition", I stayed informed on the latest happenings in Rivers State and across Nigeria. Indeed, no matter the evolution of the internet, print media will never go extinct.

In all, make sure to secure a copy of the latest edition of Port Harcourt Magazine.
