The excessive itching continued for days, she thought it was normal during pregnancy, until she was taken to the hospital.

Tests were done and her serum bile acid was very high. She had INTRAHEPATIC CHOLESTASIS. No fetal heart beat was heard, the baby was gone. She had a still born.

Cholestasis is reduced or stopped bile flow. Bile is the digestive fluid made in the liver that helps break down fats. Instead of leaving the liver for the small intestine, bile builds up in the liver. Making the bile to enter the bloodstream.

High levels of bile acids in the bloodstream is dangerous for the baby in the womb. Bile acids can cross the placenta, affecting the baby's liver and heart function.

Bile acids may cause blood vessel constriction, reducing blood flow to the placenta causing still birth.

Itching is normal and common during pregnancy. As the baby is growing, the skin is stretching leading to itching BUT this is where the difference is Please go to the hospital:👇

• If the itching is intense or severe

• If you are itching in the palms of your hands and soles of your feet

• If the itching happens more at night.

If you don't feel ok during pregnancy go to the hospital. It is better you are checked and told nothing is wrong than to be told you would have come earlier.

Morning: Rice

Inbetween: Coke or sprite

Inbetween: puff puff, Fanta Afternoon: Semo and soup
Evening : Noddles/spaghetti
fruit juice (with the roughages/fiber thrown away)

Always balance your carbohydrate intake with protein, healthy fats, and fibre for a better nutrition.

🥖🍞🥐A diet full of carbohydrates can have many effects on the body over time. Regularly eating high carb foods can cause blood sugar levels to spike, leading to insulin resistance and increasing your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

This decision was made due to the instability of the reconstituted formulations, which can lead to a loss of efficacy over time.

When a medication loses its effectiveness, it can lead to various health issues, such as the worsening of the condition being treated, an increased risk of complications, delays in treatment, and severe cases, it may even result in death.
