US occult heavy supergroup RITUAL ARCANA (with members of The Obsessed, Black Lips, Moth) Get ready for their groovy and riff-tastic debut album "Ritual Arcana", due out on January 23rd through Heavy Psych Sounds Records.

With dark moon above, the candles are lit, and from the depths rises Ritual Arcana a 3-piece sonic force featuring the high priestess SharLee LuckyFree on bass & vocals (formerly of Moth), the legendary godfather of doom Scott "Wino" Weinrich on guitar (The Obsessed, Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan), and the pirate timekeeper Oakley Munson on drums (Black Lips).

Demons My Friends, whose three members originate from Mexico City, was born during an impromptu recording session at SXSW Festival 2022 in Austin, TX. The concept of their debut album "Demons Seem To Gather" (2023) explores the inner journey its members have embarked on since the onset of the COVID pandemic, confronting inner demons and battling anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and rage, while teaching themselves how to turn these demons into their "friends".

Their sound is both emotionally charged and adventurous, mixing raw power with a sense of reflective moodiness, while the lyrical themes often deal with personal struggles, societal matters, and the complexities of human experience with a touch of existential or philosophical contemplation.��

Demons My Friends have now signed a worldwide deal with Ripple Music for the release of their upcoming sophomore album in the spring of 2026.

Clouds Taste Satanic will release a new full-length album on March 6, titled Berlin 2023, the second installment in the band’s “Live in Studio” series. Recorded at Big S***f Studios in Berlin in May 2023, the album is a no-overdub, live-in-the-room document of the band’s European tour setlist from that year, capturing their sound at its most raw, direct, and immediate.

Berlin 2023 will be available on yellow vinyl, CD, digital download, and streaming, and features Berlin-inspired artwork by Simon Berndt.

Formed in Brooklyn, New York in 2013 by guitarist Steve Scavuzzo, CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC originally included members of his former post-rock band, Gatos de Sensi. The project was conceived as a fusion of the minimalist heaviness of Sleep and Earth with the instrumental power of Pelican and Bongripper.

The band’s debut album, To Sleep Beyond the Earth, distilled these influences into a single 40-minute composition, immediately establishing their presence within the doom and stoner underground. Since then, CLOUDS TASTE SATANIC have released a new record every year, continually refining and expanding their sound while pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of heavy metal.

With minimal lineup changes across more than a decade, these post-doom instrumentalists have earned a reputation as one of the most compelling riff-driven progressive bands in the underground today. Their music seamlessly blends stoner rock, traditional doom, expansive space rock, and progressive metal, while their live performances have evolved into immersive, multi-sensory experiences that complement the depth of their recorded work.

Their eleventh album, Birmingham 2024, was released on February 7, 2025 as Volume 1 in the Live in Studio series, with Berlin 2023 continuing this focused and unfiltered exploration of the band’s formidable live power.

Dallas, Texas hybrid power trio Temptress_Official share a magnetic new track and video taken from their upcoming sophomore full-length "hear", to be issued on January 23rd through Blues Funeral Recordings and supported by an extensive US winter tour.

About "Edge", the band comments, "the video gives a parallel to the song theme while showcasing the women of Temptress. It's a psychedelic trip with a style reminiscent of nostalgic era music videos and a fun look at what a night of getting ready in a greenroom could entail."

Bombastic yet delicate, crushing yet ethereal, driving yet dark, Temptress is a jigsaw of sonic touchstones with no audible seams. Fusing doom, post-rock, grunge and post-hardcore, their molten sonic blend flows and obliterates like a liquid metal assassin. "This album as a whole is deeply personal, with all of us equally putting our hearts and souls into the songs. It has a different feel than our priors and shows our growth and different influences, tripolar if you will," the band comments.

US heavy blues rockers HERMANO the legendary project fronted by iconic Kyuss vocalist John Garcia present a fire-driven new track and live video taken from their anticipated "Clisson, France" album, to be released worldwide on February 6th via Ripple Music.

About Hermano's Hellfest 2016 live album "Clisson, France", guitarist Dave Angstrom says: “We were honored to be invited to perform at Hellfest 2016. It had been several years since we all had been in the same room, let alone had the chance to jam together—and it was an incredible experience. Being with my closest friends in France, connecting with the amazing audience, and having the opportunity to spend time with my family while experiencing the magic of Hellfest is a memory I will always cherish. Capturing that first Hellfest experience for Hermano on vinyl is special, serving as a reminder of the strong bond, love, and friendship I share with John, Chris, Mike, and Dandy. Recording albums and touring when they wanted to since their formation nearly three decades ago,Hermano has always consistently refused to operate on anyone’s schedule other than their own. Lured by the repeated calls of their devoted fans, though, the band first reunited for a stirring performance atHellfest in Clisson, France, in the summer of 2016. Eight years removed from their last live performance, they arrived in Clisson with time to rehearse through their material for a couple of hours before taking the stage. In what has been hailed as the most thrilling set of the 2016 edition of Hellfest, that evening the audience witnessed a band hitting on all cylinders, a performance so energetic and seamless that those in attendance were in awe that the band had not performed together since 2008.

Captured on audio and video, "Clisson, France" promises to be one of the most significant live albums to come out this year. It will be issued on limited LP, CD, and digital format on February 6th through Ripple Music.

Vegas Rock Revolution's Planet Desert Rock Weekend has revealed the full lineup for its 2026 edition, with twenty-one heavy rock bands from across the globe converging in Sin City over the January 29th-February 1st weekend!

Curated by Vegas Rock Revolution founder John Gist, Planet Desert Rock Weekend has become a major event for all heavy rock fans nationwide and beyond. More than just a festival, it's an experience: its strong worldwide curation in an intimate indoor and evening-only setting drives the yearly increase in popularity for this Sin City event — a party atmosphere with top-notch sound provided by The Usual Place!

South African heavy rock outfit Ruff Majik return with Can Of Wyrms, a stark and emotionally unguarded single that confronts su***de from the perspective of those left behind.

Rather than romanticizing loss or framing it through spectacle, Can Of Wyrms documents grief as an ongoing presence — unresolved, heavy, and communal. The song was written years ago, but only now finds its moment, arriving as the band re-emerge after a period marked by silence, distance, and personal reckoning.

Frontman Johni Holiday has previously spoken openly about PTSD, agoraphobia, and cycles of dependency formed while touring — struggles that ultimately led to Ruff Majik stepping away before the weight became fatal. That pause, and the clarity it forced, directly informs the song’s restraint. Can Of Wyrms does not seek answers. It acknowledges absence, as well as the battle waged by those in the thick of it.

Musically, the track balances Ruff Majik’s stoner-punk urgency with a raw yet anthemic vulnerability. Gang vocals — recorded with friends and members of the South African underground music community — form the emotional core of the song, reinforcing its central idea: this grief is shared, not isolated.

The single also features guest vocals by Ben from Slomosa, adding a further layer of communal voice and international solidarity to a deeply personal release.

All proceeds from Can Of Wyrms, including associated merchandise, will be directed toward mental-health support initiatives.
