Lord Elephant are back with their second studio album "Ultra Soul", a psyched blend of 70's, 90's and 00's extravaganzas mixed together with the distinctive heavy breath of the band. Blues, doom and sludge are fused again in the strange trademark of the trio, allergic to genre-labels and ready to expand the vision beyond cages!

Since their formation in 2016, Italy's Lord Elephant has been carefully brewing their potent sonic cocktail, and their 2022 debut album "Cosmic Awakening" (Heavy Psych Sounds) served it up just right: its thunderous dose of psychedelia, stoner, doom, and blues hit the scene hard to critical acclaim.

Vigorous, that’s how The Birch can be described best. Driving riffs, punchy rhythms and all suited in psychedelic sonority, they create an atmosphere of pure ecstasy. With their sound, the three musicians from Quedlinburg, Germany send their crowd on a spiritual journey of long lost centuries, though never indulge but face themselves the current spirit of time.

New album Vicious Mind is a dive into modern psych rock. With its seven tracks, it offers a rather dark side of the bands music on side A, which dissolves in the softer, more rocknroll side B. With a trip abroad, The Birch found themselves recording their second studio album in Miami Beach, giving them a new twist from their impressions collected in the land of the free. Twangy guitars and a rhythm section going straight forward takes the listener to psychedelic soundscapes while being kept alive by an ongoing beat, following you through the 30 minutes of the album.

Following the critical acclaim of their first collaboration in 2020, hallowed avant-garde doom acts Bell Witch and Aerial Ruin have released the next chapter of their profound, haunting partnership today. "Stygian Bough Vol. II", available now from Profound Lore, is a monumental opus of crushing doom that takes listeners on an epic soul purging journey spanning nearly an hour over 4 songs.

Over the album a cyclical world unfolds in which different perspectives of how various forms of worship empower, eclipse, destroy and feed on each other is explored. "All four songs explore different aspects of worship or awe - transcendent experiences in different contexts," vocalist and guitarist Erik Moggridge says.

Additionally, BELL WITCH and AERIAL RUIN will embark on tours of North America and Europe in December/January in support of "Stygian Bough Vol. II".

More than three decades after their first rehearsal room sessions, Italian heavy psych trio Deadpeach are opening the vaults to unveil The Demo Tapes, a digital reissue of their original cassette recordings Green (1995) and Touch Me I’m Peach (1996).

Originally released alongside the band’s DIY Peach Zine, these long-lost recordings capture the raw energy, handmade aesthetic, and fearless experimentation that defined a generation raised on fuzz pedals, photocopiers, and tape decks. Now carefully digitized and restored, The Demo Tapes offer an unfiltered snapshot of Deadpeach’s formative years – a bridge between the punk-infused underground of the 1990s and the expansive psychedelia that would later define their sound.

Recorded live in a single day at Day Records Studio in Pesaro and produced by Paul Chain, a cult figure in the Italian doom scene, Green marks the band’s very first studio outing. Driven by lo-fi grit, grunge tones, and instinctive improvisation, the nine-track demo embodies the raw independence of the mid-’90s underground. For its 2025 reissue, the recording has been remastered at Tam Tam Studio in Cesena, preserving the original analogue warmth while making it accessible for the first time on all digital platforms. Each download and pre-order include exclusive archival photos and a full scan of the original Peach-Zine #0, offering a complete dive into Deadpeach’s earliest universe.

“These recordings capture who we were. Young, instinctive, and searching,” says vocalist and guitarist Giovanni Giovannini. “They represent a time when everything was done by hand, from recording to the artwork. It’s not just nostalgia; it’s a document of our roots.”

Following Green, Deadpeach returned with Touch Me I’m Peach in 1996, a second self-produced demo that expanded their sonic palette into garage psychedelia and early stoner tones. Originally paired with Peach-Zine #1, it continued the band’s DIY ethic while hinting at the more mature sound that would culminate in their 2007 debut album Psycle. Touch Me I’m Peach will be released digitally on 10th December 2025, with remastered audio and previously unseen photos from the era.

Founded in Cattolica, Italy, in 1993, Deadpeach have spent over three decades shaping their unique blend of heavy psych, fuzz, and vintage groove, sharing stages with Colour Haze, Orange Sunshine, and Ufomammut, and earning acclaim for their 2024 studio album The Cosmic Haze and the Human Race.

With The Demo Tapes, the band revisits the DIY spirit and sonic freedom that first defined them. A time capsule of Italy’s underground rock movement before digital took over. “This is more than a reissue,” adds Giovannini. “It’s a celebration of an era when music was shared by hand – from cassette to cassette – and when imperfection was part of the magic.”

Nashville-based heavy melodic duo Friendship Commanders share their new band-created video for “DEAD & DISCARDED GIRLS,” a powerful closer from their new album BEAR, out now via Magnetic Eye Records.

The haunting track was inspired in part by the 1997 murder of fourteen-year-old Reena Virk and in part by vocalist Buick Audra’s reflections on empathy, specifically, the human tendency to withhold it unless we personally relate to someone’s suffering. The album’s dedication, “For all of the bad daughters,” originates from this song.

Released October 10 on Magnetic Eye Records, BEAR explores the ever-elusive idea of belonging, where it exists, and where it doesn’t. Audra wrote the record after realizing she had been, in her words, “kicked out of womanhood, if I was ever part of it in the first place.” The album opens and closes with songs about girls and the harm they endure at the hands of other girls and women.

The San Diego, CA, based psychedelic desert rock trio Aunt Cynthia's Cabin, are preparing to celebrate their 2020 debut full-length album Misty Woman with a re-release containing a new bonus track. Recorded in the midst of the sun-scorched landscape in Austin, TX, at Electric Deluxe Recorders with Grammy-award winning producer Adrian Quesada, Misty Woman contains the influence of this impressive environment.

"Kennel and the Dog" gently introduces the album with contrasting brighter guitar leads and grounding bass tones, before building into a fuzz-fueled powerhouse. There's a subtle underlying touch of shadow beneath the brightness of the psychedelic rock sound with doom influences. Found within are moments of catchiness, intriguing progressions and full immersion. "Which One Is the Jellyfish?" drifts away from the desert and down into the echoey depths as the prominent bass tones bring to life this watery world. A touch of drama carries through the enticing arrangement in which steadfast rhythms are interrupted with flourishes of keys, guitar licks and other sonic explosions. Seeing the overdrive turned up way past 11, this instrumental offering is characterful in its world building.

The enticing seductive mood of "Misty Woman" is brought to life with a slow tempo, a more minimalist arrangement placing the focus on Brennan Justice's lead vocals. The playful layering of instrumental components sees the track ebb and flow, gently teasing. Gradually building into a full inviting sound, "Rider in the Desert Sun (Pt I)" sees a multitude of tones and textures manifest throughout it's journey. The presence of additional organ layers reveals a 'feel good' vibe in this instrumental track. Hidden further within, a heavier rock section reveals further stylistic influences in the band's sound. "Rider in the Desert Sun (Pt II)" follows on from it's brighter first half with a dustier, more raucous rock 'n' roll spirit. This guitar driven track brings memorable hooks in the lead vocal melody supported with fuzzy distortion laden chord progressions beneath.

A sense of drama and adventure is prevalent from the off. "In the Valley"'s steadfast percussion hits contrast the bright tones of the guitar strums and notes that float above. There's an uplifting and comforting feel to this expansive and immersive instrumental offering. "There’s No Saving Cass" returns from the wild expanse of the valley into the Western plains. Subtle bass grounds the track while the lead guitar and lead vocal line entwine, rising and falling together. Reaching it's full arrangement, this charismatic track delves into the heart of the band's psychedelic rock style. "Grains of Sand", an interlude piece, briefly diverts in mood and feel. Acoustic guitar arrangement contribute to the track's melancholy feel that reverberates through a slow tempo and contemplative progressions.

The intensity of "Black and Blue" hits instantly. The high octant feel and movement of the track's rhythms is instantly alluring. Dynamically, it ebbs and flows between brief moments of reflection and full on vigorous impact. Taken from the Miramar Sessions, the bonus track "Magic Touch" offers a more intimate feel of AUNT CYNTHIA'S CABIN's sound.

The album will arrive on cyan and magenta vinyl, as well as on CD, via Black Throne Productions on December 19th, 2025.

Bristol-based three piece Epimetheus announce their debut album, Perseus 9, to be released on 6th February 2026. Today they share the title track about which the band says;
"'Perseus 9' takes the sci-fi setting of being trapped in a never-decaying orbit and recontextualises it into a more personal sense of hopeless cyclicality. With a winding, interlocking riff and exploratory structure, it's an indication of what's to come from its namesake album."

The difference between heaviness and aggression is crucial when entering Epimetheus’ orbit. The sound of Epimetheus is crafted via heady repetition, churning basslines and unexpected melodic hooks which drift in and out of the noise. “The kind of people that come to our shows will appreciate the fact that the guitar sounds like a train derailment,” says Cillian. “Our tone is a huge focus - that element is very present in our identity. People often ask how we do it with just the three of us.”

Embarking on a debut album would not have been possible without the open-mindedness of Bristol audiences, and the chameleonic nature of the band. Staples of the local scene, they often found themselves on the same bill as bands of other genres. “I think that’s kind of informed some of the album, in a way,” says Ben. “Because we were coming at this with the knowledge that we’d be playing this music in front of all kinds of people, not necessarily metalheads.”
The balancing act between being approachable for a more general audience and remaining heavy has resulted in a sound which draws melody from within the mix, a thick wash of shuddering guitar and mantric basslines serve as an inescapable cyclone from which Ben’s vocals emerge like dust particles floating through nebula.
