Wolves’ new manager Rob Edwards could look to recall Tommy Doyle from his loan spell at Birmingham City in the January transfer window, sources have suggested. Doyle, who joined Birmingham from Wolves after just one permanent season at Molineux, has impressed during his time in the Championship, starting the past four matches as the Blues chase promotion.

Birmingham City’s Championship campaign hit another bump on Saturday as Middlesbrough claimed a 2‑1 victory at the Riverside. Demarai Gray’s third goal of the season gave Blues an early glimmer of hope, but Dael Fry and Hayden Hackney struck back to ensure Boro left with all three points. The result ended Birmingham’s mini‑run following consecutive 4‑0 home victories, leaving them 11th in the table with 21 points from 15 matches as the league headed into its third international break of the season.
