ROCKY SHADES' WRATHCHILD HALLOWEEN FREAKSHOW PARTY + SPECIAL GUESTS COUNTERFEIT KISS AND THE ORIGINAL WANTED - THE BILLESLEY ROCK CLUB FRI 31ST OCTOBER 2025.
Halloween, or more correctly All Hallows' Eve, comes but once a year and strange, bizarre things tend to happen at this time. This year, the Billesley Rock Club played host to one such happening! Let's face it, if Wrathchild feat Rocky Shades is anywhere in the evening's line up, then anything can and usually does materialise! I know Rocky works really hard behind the scenes to bring us the best of shows for our entertainment and if you're a fan of confetti cannons, then he's your man. Tonight's spooky musical extravaganza got off with a bang courtesy of venue favourites Counterfeit Kiss (official), This extremely likeable duo concentrate their act around founding members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and we get the full make up and authentic Kiss costumes (just how do they perform in those crazy shoes??). Tonight the guys entertained us with just over half an hour of Kiss classics which warmed our excellent crowd nicely for the rest of the evening. A quick change around saw Shropshire outfit The Original Wanted take to the stage with their classic rock 70s/80's influenced glam sounds, their cracking fifty minute set comprised covers with self penned tunes, which included their Shropshire Music Awards Best Single award, for which the BRC extends it's congratulations. And so to our headline act, Wrathchild feat Rocky Shades. What can I say about these guys, Rocky, the Godfather of Glam Metal, in particular, that hasn't been said many times previously! Those who have seen the band before know what to expect (or do they?) and those who haven't well, let's just say it'd be an experience, but with the pedigree the band has, a very worthwhile one! Excellent musicianship, might fine songs, great humorous banter and of course those confetti cannons, one of which almost took the sound desk out! Over three hours of top entertainment was enjoyed by our awesome patrons, the vast majority of whom had gone to great lengths to get into the whole Halloween spirit, with some quite spectacular outfits, props and make up on show. For the music and entertainment we thank all of our performers for a truly top-drawer evening and to all our wonderful paying guests we say many thanks for supporting the bands, the venue and live music. You are all much appreciated. Special mention to our host Nancy, who spent Thursday afternoon decorating the room with lots of spooky things; she, DJ Bear and soundman Darren deserve much praise for all they do behind the scenes to keep live music live! Cheers guys.
