Meta's changing the rules again, and if it hasn't hit you yet, it's coming.

Facebook is now limiting non-paying pages to just 2 link posts a month. Hit that cap, and you'll be told to upgrade to Meta One or stop sharing links in your posts.

You heard it here first: it's part of a bigger pattern of platforms making it harder for small businesses to reach people for free. This is exactly why I'm so passionate about email marketing. It's the one channel nothing else can restrict, throttle, or paywall.

Does this sound familiar? Let me tell you about Emma.

Emma's one of my founding members in Kelly's Tech Lounge. Before we worked together, she was on Mailchimp because it was free, until she hit the 1,000 emails a month limit. 250 people on your list, one weekly email, and that's your whole month gone.

So she moved to Brevo. More emails a month, but only 300 a day. 400 people on her list, a first-come-first-served offer, no way to choose who got it first. She had to write every email so it still made sense whether someone read it today or tomorrow, then log back in the next day to send the rest.

This is exactly what I helped her fix. She now has a system where she can send as many emails as she wants, schedule them, and set up freebies to bring new people in. This summer she created a free guide about what was happening in her area, grew her list by 16 people, and nurtured them with a weekly email. Come autumn, she had more people ready to book.

You've got a list of parents. The platform might even be set up. But every time you sit down to write an email your brain just... empties.

What do I say? Will it sound salesy? What if they unsubscribe? What if it's boring?

So you close the tab. Again.

Here's what I want you to know - the fix isn't becoming a better writer. It's having a starting point so you're not inventing every email from scratch.

Think about the questions parents ask you all the time. Those are your emails. Pick one, write a short answer the way you'd actually say it out loud, and send it. Done is better than perfect every time.
